The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 270

Zi Han couldn’t understand what the hell she meant but his home is here. He was just upset that some people were being tricked into believing that he was some sort of savior and would agree to do dangerous things just to see that dream come true.

He didn’t like her at all, in fact, he might have killed her himself if it weren’t for that person but he still closed her eyes and muttered the parting words as stipulated by the federation. She wasn’t part of the federation but she was still a person.

Thirty minutes later Yi Chen came back in a hurry his expression dark. Despite all his efforts he still couldn’t find the culprit which was incredibly frustrating. He decided to get back to Zi Han and hopefully figure out another way.

“You couldn’t catch them?” asked Zi Han scratching the back of his head. Yi Chen shook his head while kneeling to check his injuries but Zi Han refused.

“It’s already healing... I am already sick of this shit. I want to go home,” said Zi Han stretching out his hands.

In tacit understanding, Yi Chen picked him up before summoning his mech. In the cockpit, Yi Chen sat Zi Han down before they flew back to the cruiser.

While Zi Han was taking a well-deserved bath Yi Chen was on the call with his father who seemed to have aged a little more due to stress.

“... We need to screen everyone on Seon. I am afraid that there are a lot of spies from the Republic,” explained Yi Chen his expression stern.

.....

“How many do you have in your custody,” asked the Marshal rubbing his temple in frustration.

“... I have one. The other one was assassinated by someone. I didn’t manage to catch them. That’s why I need everyone on Seon to be vetted extensively,” replied Yi Chen recalling that boy who was locked up in the brig.

“You haven’t reported that you have a captive yet, haven’t you?” asked the Marshal but the answer was already obvious. “Are you still holding on to that? Why are you wasting your time on a pointless task? You should be focused on more important things.”

Yi Chen exhaled deeply before shutting this conversation down before it goes any further.

“I will send you the report. If I find out anything I will tell you about it. I have to go take a shower,” he said before ending the call. The marshal was a little displeased but he knew anything to do with finding his royal highness would lead to an unnecessary fight thus he could only let it go.

Zi Han on the other hand was in front of a mirror while putting on a face mask and chatting with his mother.

“... What do you mean you have a surprise for me?” he asked but Zi Xingxi remained mysterious about it.

“I will show you when we meet. I am just going to enjoy the last day of my vacation in peace,” she said pulling down her sunglasses while sinking further into the beach chair.

“You obviously overstayed your visit. Yi Chen’s mum must be tired of you already,” said Zi Han while staring at her with his brow arched seeing how comfortable she was.

“Aaaaahhh Xixi look look look... It arrived. They said it melts into your skin making it flawless. Do you want to try it now?” said an excited Lin Ruoxi holding a tiny box with face cream in it.

Zi Han, “...”

It turns out his mother didn’t overstay her welcome on Paru, the Lin family’s personal planet, it was that Lin Ruoxi was eager to make her stay longer than she should.

“Oh, hie Han Han. Where is Chen Chen?” she said after noticing Zi Han on the floating screen.

Zi Han waved his hand at her but before he could open his mouth Zi Xingxi interjected. “Okay, goodbye. See you when you get back,” she said before cutting the video call.

Lin Ruoxi, “...”

“You still won’t talk to him after all this time? He is going to be your son-in-law,” said Lin Ruoxi while opening the box. The reason why Zi Xingxi cut the call was that she thought Zi Han would call Yi Chen and she would have to talk to him so yep... she cut that call really fast.

Zi Xingxi pulled up her glasses and stared at her while asking, “Are we going to try the cream, or we are going to keep talking.”

“*sigh... let’s try it,” she said and pulled out the tiniest cream known to mankind.

Zi Xingxi, “...”

“How much did you pay for this?” she asked staring at the packaging that wasn’t even as big as half her pinkie finger.

“Um.... well,” whispered Lin Ruoxi acting like that one friend who buys stupid shit online and tries to justify her irresponsible expenditure.

Zi Xingxi raised her hands in surrender. “You know what, never mind. Let’s try it,” she said and Lin Ruoxi’s dispirited appearance vanished completely. The two ladies applied the face cream on their faces their expressions unreadable.

Lin Ruoxi, “It smells nice.”

Zi Xingxi, “Uh huh... is it doing anything for you?”

Lin Ruoxi, “Kinda... it feels plump and soft but I don’t think it’s worth the price.”

Zi Xingxi, “Me neither. You think we can get a refund.”

Lin Ruoxi, “Nope... but I can punish them for deceiving me. This shit isn’t worth it at all. I am going to put them out of business.”

Zi Xingxi, “Let me know when you want to do it. I will directly blow up their factory.”

Lin Ruoxi, “That’s not the type of ‘put them out of business’ I mean. I meant blasting them on StarNet or something.”

Zi Xingxi shrugged her shoulders before pulling down her sunglasses and lying back down. Her methods were, how would you say this... dark so she saw no problem with it but her new bestie over here was so innocent. Well innocent, in terms of crime.
