The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 193

“Shit.”

“What are you cursing for? I swear your mother is going to wash your mouth with soap if you keep cursing.”

“Who cares about that? The fuckin team list is out. Damn it... I am in Hela’s team.”

“What are you on about? I heard someone mention my name,” said Hela terrifying the two boys who were taking a rest after enduring extreme torment.

As soon as they saw her they wilted like spinach under the hot sun before running away.

Hela was about to grab the most talkative one back and ask him what was so wrong about being on her team.

But before she could do that though she saw Yi Chen striding down the corridor his expression as dark as stormy clouds. She was curious but she didn’t dare ask. When Yi Chen was like that it was best for everyone to stay clear otherwise they would be implicated.

Lucky for her Zi Han and his band of misfits showed up in time thus she asked, “Who made him mad this time.” ‘And why was this irresponsible wife not running over to comfort his husband?’ she thought not daring to say it out loud.

.....

Before Zi Han could answer Li Ran who happened to head in the same direction said, “He got the team list now he is upset about something.”

Hela couldn’t figure it out at first that is until she asked, “Han Han whose team are you in?”

Zi Han’s face still hurt from the epic face slap just now thus his mood was horrible. He had just told Evan that they would never be on the same team but here he was third on the list right below Crvena’s name. So yep he was pretty pissed as well.

“Evan’s,” he responded before walking away feeling slightly dejected.

Hela, “....”

“Fuck no,” she swore firmly opposing this absurd idea.

Everyone, “....”

Well, even the fujoshi was angry now and like Yi Chen, she would most likely take it out on the dean. Yi Chen was way ahead of her directly entering the Dean’s office without permission.

The dean who was raising his cup of tea about to enjoy the lovely brew was startled seeing this disrespectful miniature version of the Marshal.

He sat his cup down and was about to ask, “What’s wrong,” when Yi Chen spoke through his teeth.

“The list,” said Yi Chen, and the dean swallowed back his words.

Knowing that he had Marshal Yi as his backer he said, “Now Yi Chen, don’t be hasty. Sit down first then we can talk about it.”

Under normal circumstances, Yi Chen would have at least tried to reason with the dean and not act rash but this time the old man had taken things too far.

“As the best out of the entire academy, I am entitled to three names on my list as per the academy rules. But I haven’t exercised my right yet and the team list is already out,” said Yi Chen trying his best not to lose his temper.

“Well,” said the dean his tone a little hesitant. He was trying to come up with the right words but after phrasing and paraphrasing in his mind several times he just came out with it.

“Yes, not unless if the order comes from up above so....”

Yi Chen’s face sank when he heard this. Who else apart from his father would mess with his plans?

Thirty minutes later Yi Chen was barging into another office this time his father’s, his expression unsightly.

Marshal Yi didn’t even spare him a glance as he continued with his work acting like he was invisible.

Indeed, he was right. His son had become quite impulsive and brazen too ever since he met Zi Han. After figuring out Zi Han’s identity he investigated his son’s interaction with Zi Han. He realized that his son had become a whole different person especially when he was around Zi Han. Marshal Yi couldn’t get what was so special about Zi Han that he would influence his son this much.

It seemed that royal blood had some type of enchantment preying on the powerful. That royal blood even brought down the stubbornest woman in Onyx federation. She was so stubborn that she offended every man in Onyx federation but she fell heads over heels for the prince.

That love ran so deep that she even wanted to burn each and every bridge for him the day he passed away. If it weren’t for Zi Feiji she would have taken down the entire military with her.

Now it seemed his son had also fallen victim bewitched by that royal blood. A love relationship wasn’t applicable but there was most likely a sworn brotherhood between them.

“Sit?” asked the Marshal but Yi Chen remained rooted in place without moving.

“Why?” asked Yi Chen sounding a bit aggrieved, “I do everything you ask of me but one time I want something for myself you take it away from me. Why?”

Marshal Yi paused his movements for a second before he raised his head to look at him and say, “You really don’t know why or are you are pretending to be stupid. Surely you must know who he is otherwise I would truly be ill at ease letting you take this position in the future.”

“Even if I know so what?.... Even he doesn’t know who his father is so what seems to be the problem?” said Yi Chen while clenching his fists.

“Oh.... Since this mission is the method you use to create an elite team that will be loyal to you in the future wouldn’t it be right that you tell him the truth?”

“Since one of the objectives of Hydra is to be morally upstanding with great trust in the brotherhood then why don’t you tell him?”

“Before you even begin you already built a team based on deceit. I tell you what, you should go right now and tell him the truth and I will let it go. How about that?”

For a moment Yi Chen silently listened to him while restoring calmness in his chaotic mind. After the raging waves settled and the stormy clouds cleared he finally could logically analyze the situation.
