Chapter 1255: 1254 Hospital Riot
She checked the time—it had been almost 40 minutes. Where had Lan Ning gone to buy food? Why hadn’t she come back yet? Could it be that she went outside to buy some treats for herself?
Li Li sent a message to Lan Ning, but Lan Ning did not reply. Unable to wait any longer, she called Lan Ning, but still, no one answered the phone.
Seeing her anxious expression, Professor Guo asked, “Is there something the matter?”
Li Li replied, “I asked my friend to buy me some food, but it’s been 40 minutes now, and she still hasn’t returned. She’s not replying to messages, nor is she answering calls; I have no idea where she might be.”
Professor Guo and the others had eaten before coming, so he had forgotten about the meal. Hearing Li Li mention wanting to eat, he quickly asked his student to buy a portion for Li Li.
Li Li said, “There’s no need to trouble your senior; my friend will be back soon…”
Before she could finish speaking, there was noisy commotion outside the room, and the noise was getting closer, as if right at her hospital room door.
“Is it here?” a rough-voiced man asked, “Quick, open the door for me!”
A delicate female voice rose, “Take out your anger on me if you must, but it has nothing to do with my friend; she’s already injured. What more do you want?”
The man said, “No, she hurt our son so badly, we must teach her a lesson!”
Another man spoke up, seemingly a doctor, “Families of the patient, this is a hospital. Please show some respect. Don’t hurt our patients or innocent people, or we will have to call the police and arrest you.”
Another woman said, “We’re here to seek revenge for our child. What right do the police have to arrest us?”
The male doctor, suppressing his anger, said, “Ma’am, please respect the law. If you cause trouble here, it constitutes endangering public safety, and the police can arrest you.”
The woman was not afraid at all, “Then go ahead and call them! Move aside, don’t get in our way, or we’ll hit you too.”
The male doctor seemed to be pushed aside, and then the door to Li Li’s room was kicked open. Four or five burly figures burst in, looking extremely ferocious.
“Which one of you is Li Li?” the leading man asked, his gaze ferocious as if he was going to devour someone.
Li Li instinctively replied, “Are you blind? Whoever is lying on the bed, that’s Li Li!”
Lan Ning squeezed through the crowd and quickly stood in front of the bed, shouting loudly, “Li Li, don’t conflict with them; there are so many of them, and they’re very fierce. We can’t beat them.”
Li Li asked, “What do you want with me?”
The leading man smirked, “So, you’re the young girl who hurt my son?”
Li Li immediately understood who these people were, and scoffed, “Son can’t beat me, so Daddy has to step in? Just wait; once I’m healed, I’ll fight you.” She knew she couldn’t beat this man, the reason she said this was to buy time. Once these people left, she’d quickly call Tan Rou to arrange for some powerful bodyguards.
Late Father snorted dismissively, moving his wrists, then said, “No, I’m settling my son’s account right now.”
Li Li shrank back into her bedcovers, “You wouldn’t really hit a young girl, would you?”
Late Father paused, then turned to the woman beside him, “Sister, you’re a woman, you handle this. Just teach her a lesson, no need to kill.”
The woman beside him stepped forward, bearing a resemblance to Late Father, clearly family.
“Alright,” Auntie smiled, slowly walking toward Li Li’s bedside.
“No, no!” the doctor who had spoken earlier somehow reappeared, saying excitedly, “This is a hospital, you can’t just hit patients like that; we’ve already called the police. If you don’t leave now, the police will arrest you.”
Auntie slapped the skinny male doctor away, “Move aside, don’t block my way!”
