Global Superpower: I Control All Elements

Chapter 1 - Cute Little Loli

Qin Feng was shaken awake and groggily looked at the little girl in front of him.

He was stunned for a moment before he softly said, “Chuchu, you’ve been dead for so many years, and only now you’ve thought of visiting me in a dream…”

Qin Feng instinctively grabbed the little girl’s arm and froze in place.

This little girl’s arm was warm and soft—she was clearly alive…

He looked up in shock, unable to believe what he was seeing.

This little girl had large, round eyes, willow-leaf eyebrows, fair skin, and a high nose bridge—a budding beauty.

It was his sister, Chuchu.

But Chuchu had passed away three years ago, so why was she suddenly standing alive in front of him?

“Pfft! Brother, what nonsense are you talking about? What do you mean, visiting you in a dream? I told you to stop staying up late watching horror movies, but you just won’t listen.”

Chuchu pouted discontentedly.

Qin Feng felt a mess in his head.

He looked around and saw a small 20-square-meter room with dim lighting. There was no familiar computer, nor the usual “Naruto” poster.

On the left wall, an electronic clock hung.

Below the clock, the calendar showed: August 7, 2019.

2019?!

Wasn’t it 2022?

Qin Feng’s eyes widened.

Could he have traveled back to three years ago? Specifically, three days before Chuchu’s car accident!

But why did this room feel so unfamiliar?

His head throbbed as a flood of memories surged forth.

“I’ve traveled to a parallel world…”

Qin Feng was dumbfounded.

This parallel world was filled with a strange energy called “elemental power.”

At the same time, ferocious beasts and demon beasts roamed freely, and even colossal star beasts appeared occasionally.

These star beasts could fly, burrow, move mountains, and fill seas, capable of causing destruction akin to nuclear bombs with just a flick of a finger.

Human thermal weapons had little effect on ferocious beasts and demon beasts, and against star beasts, they were utterly useless.

As a result, for survival, humans had shrunk their areas of activity and built thousands of base cities, raising high walls and electric grids to fend off attacks from the beasts.

Many people left their original homes, crowding into the densely populated base cities.

This small 20-square-meter room was the home Qin Feng and Chuchu shared in Yunyang Base City.

“Brother, did you hear? Aunt Zuo Li sacrificed herself yesterday while on patrol. I heard she was bitten by a ferocious black panther, and it tore off both her legs.”

Chuchu’s eyes reddened slightly.

Zuo Li?

Wasn’t that their neighbor auntie?

So, she existed in this world too.

Qin Feng felt sad.

Zuo Li had always been kind to them, taking care of the siblings. He hadn’t expected such a tragic end for her…

Wait! There is something wrong!

I clearly remembered that, on the original Earth, Zuo Li had been hit by a black Jaguar car, her legs crushed, and she died on the spot—also yesterday.

Looking at it this way, the events in these two parallel worlds are eerily similar.

Both deaths occurred on the same day.

In one, Zuo Li was killed by a ferocious black panther; in the other, by a black Jaguar car.

In both cases, she lost her legs.

What’s even more terrifying is that on the original Earth, after Zuo Li’s accident, Chuchu also had a car accident three days later.

Could Chuchu in this world also be in danger three days from now?

A sharp pain stabbed Qin Feng’s heart.

Chuchu had grown up with him in the orphanage, and they had always relied on each other.

Though they weren’t biological siblings, they were as close as blood relatives.

He had already lost Chuchu once. Now that he had traveled to this world, he couldn’t bear to lose her again.

No matter what, he had to stop the tragedy from happening.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

There was a knock at the door.

Chuchu quickly rubbed her eyes and ran to open it.

Creak!

The door swung open.

Standing outside was a middle-aged man with a fierce demeanor, dressed in a black uniform, holding a wooden box in his arms.

He was Chen Ming, the captain of the patrol squad overseeing this refugee area.

To the refugees, Chen Ming was a remarkable figure, wielding considerable power.

Since the appearance of ferocious beasts, demon beasts, and star beasts on Earth, human thermal weapons had become increasingly ineffective, plunging humanity into a crisis of extinction.

In this critical moment, humans discovered a method to cultivate as elementalists from a relic in the Bermuda Triangle.

Elementalists could control wind, fire, thunder, and lightning, fly through the skies and burrow through the earth, and manipulate rivers and seas like gods. They could battle ferocious beasts and demon beasts and even confront the colossal star beasts.

From then on, the human world was swept up in a frenzy of cultivation, transforming into a society where elementalists were supreme, and strength ruled.

If you had strength, you could amass limitless wealth.

If you had strength, countless women would adore you.

If you had strength, you could hold the power to topple nations.

Elementalists were ranked from one star to nine stars, with one star being the weakest and nine stars the strongest.

Before becoming a one-star elementalist, there was a transitional phase called the “Body Strengthening Realm.”

Chen Ming was merely a quasi-elementalist, not even a one-star elementalist, yet he was the highest-ranking officer in charge of thousands of refugees, earning everyone’s respect.

This was because not everyone had the talent to become an elementalist. Out of a thousand people, it was rare to find one with the aptitude. Most people would never become elementalists in their lifetime.

“Captain Chen, what brings you here?” Chuchu asked.

“I’m here to inform you and your brother that in three days, you’ll both need to report to the squad for your routine patrol duty, which will last for a week,” Chen Ming announced expressionlessly.

Qin Feng was shocked.

Patrol duty in three days?

That coincides exactly with the date of Chuchu’s car accident.

This mission would surely be dangerous for Chuchu.

“Captain Chen, could I take her place? A single person’s task lasts one week, and two people’s tasks last two weeks. I can complete two weeks alone.”

Qin Feng pleaded.

“No.” Chen Ming rejected firmly. “All refugees aged 13 and above must complete at least one week of patrol duty each year, and no one can substitute for another. This is a rule set by the higher-ups.”

“After all, the base city has limited resources. We can’t afford to support idlers or useless people. Anyone who defies this rule will be expelled from the base.”

Being expelled from the base would be deadly. The outside was teeming with ferocious beasts and demon beasts, where even a one-star elementalist would struggle to survive, let alone ordinary people.

Qin Feng nodded slightly and didn’t press further.

He had only tried, knowing it was unlikely.

Chen Ming appreciated Qin Feng’s lack of persistence.

“Young man, in these chaotic times, rules are made by the strong. The weak have no say. In fact, there’s nothing wrong with what the strong do. Without the protection of the strong, the weak wouldn’t even have a corner to eke out their existence.”

“If you really want to keep your sister safe, upgrade her status to that of a citizen. Citizens only need to go on missions after they turn eighteen.”

Chen Ming spoke earnestly.

Qin Feng’s eyes lit up.

Even within this lowest-level Yunyang base city, the inhabitants were still divided into ranks.

At the bottom were the refugees, with the least privileges.

Above them were civilians, citizens, elite citizens, and elementalists.

Elementalists, no matter where or when, were always the highest echelon, the smallest group of people.

“Captain Chen, what do I need to do to upgrade my sister’s status to that of a citizen?”

Qin Feng asked curiously.

“It’s simple! It depends on your contributions to Yunyang City. Contributions can come from hunting ferocious beasts, capturing criminals, contributing medicinal herbs, or even donating money.”

“For details, you can check the mission board at the city square. The quickest way is to donate 10 million to the government. That will earn you 1,000 contribution points, which is enough to upgrade a refugee to a citizen.”

Hearing this, Qin Feng smiled wryly.

As far as I know, Chuchu and I barely have a few thousand units of currency between them.

If it weren’t for their odd jobs, they would have struggled to make ends meet. How could they possibly come up with 10 million?

Captain Chen continued, “There’s an even better way. If you can become a one-star elementalist, you can designate three family members as elite citizens. Elite citizens never have to perform patrol duties.”

Hearing this, Qin Feng sighed inwardly.

This truly is a world where elementalists reigned supreme!

“If only I could become an elementalist, then I could protect Chuchu. Wait, as a traveler, where’s my system?”

“Ding! System detected a strong desire from the host. The God-level Elementalist Training System has been activated…”

Qin Feng’s eyes sparkled. His system had been activated. In this magnificent world, his own extraordinary journey was about to begin…
