The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1114: The Climax Begins (2)

Nothing happened for a short while, but there was a storm brewing as the battle continued.

Oblivious to everyone, the white sphere in the sky was gaining mass.

All of the excess energy that broke through the set limiter was gathered and molded by it.

Due to Rex\'s Night of the Full Moon Dome, nobody realized this was happening.

Following that silent phenomenon—the gathered excess energy concentrated on a point and created a blob—it was charging with swirling energy with each second. Just when the brutal battle reached its peak, this blob finally popped.

Swoosh!!

Like before the battle, the white sphere fired a suppressing white beam.

However, unlike the white beams it fired before, this one was as big as the entire creek itself.

If seen from the side, this white beam was akin to a smite from heaven.

A tool to punish those who acted out of line.

Rex stretches his arms wide as if embracing the entire world, his silhouette casts against the backdrop of the incoming white beam above—engulfing the Executor, in his shadow. Despite the overwhelming pressure on his shoulders, Rex remained unflinching.

Matter of fact, he adorned a daunting smile as his ruby red eyes glowed a contrasting light.

"The world welcomed us, setting the stage for our final showdown," Rex declared.

Staring directly into the Executor\'s soul, Rex struck fear into his heart.

"Rise, Fifthborn. Only the stronger out of us two shall come out of this alive," He continued.

As the words reached him—the Executor\'s face drained of color before a rush of adrenaline, a kick of life gave him a little bit of strength. He spun on his feet—leaving behind the Golden Slayer in a desperate bid to escape.

But in the blink of an eye, Rex was upon him, ensnaring him in a chokehold from behind.

Exhausted of everything right now, Rex could only opt to use his raw strength.

He held the Executor in place, unwilling to let go.

"Unhand me you lunatic! If we stay here, both of us are going to die!!" the Executor shouted.

Listening to the dread in his tone, Rex smirked, "We\'ll have to see about that..."

KABOOM!!

Like a divine lance thrown from the very heart of the cosmos—the white beam struck down the creek below, a blinding cascade of light engulfing every crevice and shadow. In its wake—destruction reigned supreme.

Anything it touches is devasted by its power.

One could see the watery essence, the lifeblood of the land, vaporized into tendrils of mist, vanishing into the ether. Ancient trees, guardians of the earth, were torn from their roots—lifted skyward by the force before disintegrating into splinters and dust.

Even the sanctified ground of the Symposium of Upper Divinities was not spared.

All of the stoic statues, remnants of formidable figures of the past, succumbed to the fury of the white beam. Cracks spiderwebbed across their stone forms, their proud visages crumble into rubbles as if struck by the hand of an angry God.

Nevertheless, a singular anomaly persisted.

Unlike the other parts of the creek, a small portion of the Symposium remains untouched.

A small island of stability amidst the maelstrom of destruction.

Due to the presence of two figures, Rex and the Executor—their auras helped a small area of the Symposium to remain. Even though in the face of annihilation, they stood undaunted, the two could be seen teetering on the brink of oblivion.

Both were the center of the inexorable wrath of the world itself.

Rex knew that this phenomenon would happen as the System surprisingly warned him.

In the midst of savoring the tasty sight of desperation beginning to engulf the Executor—Rex had his attention abruptly drawn to a large notification that was assuming and flashing with a crimson hue.

He was caught off guard as the System should be deactivated until he defeats the Executor.

But as he read the notification, he understood why this happened.

<System alert: The world\'s limiter has been restored!>

<Anomalies including the user are now targeted for erasure. Immediate action is advised.>

<Evacuation is extremely advised or be erased!>

<Time until complete erasure: 3 minutes and 40 seconds>

Despite the warning prompts that appeared in his vision, flashing with a crimson hue, he kept his eyes on the Executor as he fought against the relentless onslaught of the white beam. He was prepared, but the effect from the white beam was greater than he expected.

Having felt the white beam multiple times, Rex thought that he could handle it with ease.

But he was completely wrong.

Clamping his teeth together with unyielding force, his once resolute lips now trembled under the strain of his exertion. Tremors wracked his body, each tremble was a sheer testament to the ferocity that he was enduring at this moment.

His muscles and sinews screamed in protest as he strained to hold his ground.

Lines of anguish bore deep into his face, struggling to keep awake.

Endure it... I only needed to endure the initial hit before my body could adjust to the force.

Gazing at the Executor, Rex also found that he was in the same boat.

While Rex managed to hold his ground despite teetering on a dangerous edge, the Executor was already on all fours, battling against the relentless force of the white beam. It was quite clear that he was suffering more than Rex did by this.

Maybe his exhaustion and bad mental state made him struggle more than he should have.

Nevertheless, Rex was not out of the woods yet.

Despite wanting to endure the initial hit that his body received from the white beam, he was having, an extremely hard time. His vision dimmed with each thunderous beat of his heart—and Rex could feel that his consciousness was waning.

If he fell unconscious right now, that would be the end, but he was determined to do this.

Slowly, he managed to persevere.

But all of that changed when the last strand of his spirit energy and mana was exhausted.

Splash!

Clinging to the last vestiges of his resolve, Rex\'s eyes rolled as he was being overwhelmed.

His eyelids began to feel heavier, and his mind seemed to be pulled away.

Rex knew that he was about to pass out, and he opted to stab himself to jolt his mind awake—but he couldn\'t muster enough strength to do it. Sensing his critical state, a troubled voice rang in his mind, it was the Countess trying to knock some sense into him.

Even then, it was no use, she couldn\'t jolt his mind awake.

In that deadly moment of life and death, memories started to flash inside Rex\'s mind.

His rise to power was meteoric and fast, but it was adorned with ugly obstacles.

However, there was some beauty that he gained along the way—a set of flowers that adorn his dreadful, miserable, and unforgiving life. Flowers that vitalize his memories with not only blood and vengeance.

Such as those who accepted him as a Werewolf when the world could not.

Such as those who helped him go through some of the darkest times in his life.

Dying right now wouldn\'t be so bad.

Upon thinking this, Rex smiled as even if he died here, the Executor wouldn\'t survive this.

At the extreme of the moment, a light whisper infiltrated his ears.

"No, Rex. It\'s not your time yet..."

Immediately following that moment, as though emerging from a harrowing nightmare, vitality flooded back into his eyes. Rex blinked rapidly, he could feel a resurgence of strength inside of him, and his consciousness was pulled back into reality again.

Recoiling back to an upright stand, he assesses the situation in shock.

What happened? Where did I get this strength from?

Puzzled by the source of strength he recovered, Rex\'s confusion deepened, but his attention was then pulled downward, to his hand. There—Rex witnesses the Blood Devourer trembling with an enigmatic source of energy.

It didn\'t come naturally from the cutlass, Rex could feel that it was different.

Compared to the blood energy, this one is more soothing.

Upon frowning for a second, his eyes widened realizing what it was or who it was.

"Rosie...?" He uttered a name, and the cutlass trembled in response.

Smiling lightly—Rex traversed his eyes back to the Executor as he managed to withstand the initial impact from the white beam. His body was now used to the sensation, and he regained back his motor control albeit he was still threatened to be erased.

<Time until complete erasure: 2 minutes and 58 seconds>

On the other hand, the Executor coughed a mouthful of blood and raised his gaze angrily.

"Raarrgh!! Royal Black Prince!!"

Unleashing a primal roar knowing that death was now around the corner, the Executor made up his mind and charged at Rex with extreme aggression. Not a sliver of his chaos energy is oozing out of his body, the white beam evaporates it all.

Rex was also in the same boat, the unknown energy from earlier only jolted his mind awake.

He couldn\'t use his energy at all.

But a moment where not a glimpse of energy exists is a perfect world for someone like Rex.

The Executor hurled himself at Rex, his movements fueled by desperation and rage.

His once-powerful punches—capable of shattering mountains, and causing earthquakes now fell like raindrops, lacking the devastating force of his prime. Rex, unfaltering, countered each strike with his own, the clash of flesh upon flesh echoing in the air.

Bam!!

Letting out a forceful grunt, Rex met the Executor\'s punch with his own fist.

"Argghk!!"

Surprisingly, the Executor felt an excruciating pain in his fist when his punch connected.

He felt powerless, like a regular human punching against a wall.

Following that successful strike, Rex bares his claws and swipes them viciously.

Slash!

As the claws slice across his torso—the Executor lets out a painful grunt, four crimson marks marring his flesh as the force spun him around. Not stopping at that, Rex made another slash—leaving the same bloody marks on his back.

Letting out a guttural roar of fury, the Executor forced his wounds to close and regenerate.

It surprised Rex, but doing that drained more stamina out of him.

Shifting tactics, the Executor added kicks into his attacks in a frantic attempt to hurt Rex, but to his dismay—every strike was deflected, and every maneuver countered with precision. As in a battle of techniques, Rex surpassed the Executor immensely.

Each failed attack propelled the Executor\'s frustration higher, it was not looking good for him.

Dodging an attack, the Executor recoiled his arm back to swipe Rex across his face.

But with his quick reflex, Rex caught his wrist and gripped it tightly.

Making eye contact with labored breaths—the Executor bit his lower lip so hard that it began to bleed—as he couldn\'t believe that the situation amounted to this. He could taste the bitter tang of blood in his mouth as he maintained eye contact.

Right now, the situation is reversed.

Rex stood as an indomitable force while he was as minuscule as a bug.

Knowing that the Executor\'s mind was distracted, Rex seized the opportunity, by yanking the Executor closer—and baring his lethal fangs before sinking them viciously into the Executor\'s exposed neck, biting deep and tearing a huge chunk of flesh off.

Blood squirted out as he did that, jolting the Executor\'s instinct to survive.

Even though the Executor retaliated, Rex simply tanked it and let his feral side take over.

In a brutal manner, he sunk his fangs into the Executor\'s arm and tore it right off—drawing a beautiful arc of blood into the air before it was instantly evaporated by the white beam. One look is all it takes to make the Executor\'s face pale.

As of this moment, he truly felt the embrace of death.

Despite all the talks of life and death earlier, this dire moment dug deep into his soul.

\'I\'m going to die-!\' He screamed inside his head.
