The Divine Wolf... or?

Chapter 165: Getting Serious!

They didn\'t get injured in this exchange, but it was clear for all to see who had the advantage, and it wasn\'t the twins. Though they were pushed back, they weren\'t disheartened, and they quickly attacked once more. The angel just used the same skill as earlier, and punched out with his fist, while the twins used a similar attack as before, but this time they used fire instead of lightning.

The impact of their attack was a little weaker, since lightning packed a bigger punch, but the biggest strength of the fire was naturally its heat.

As the fire was obstructing the angel\'s view, Thufrat brought his hammer up high, before swinging it down again fiercely. A large shockwave of mana was rapidly approaching the angel from the gap in between the two twins, and Ark seemed to remember this attack from before.

If he didn\'t remember incorrectly, this was the skill Thufrat had used in one of their first fights in the dungeon where they had met. But since that was the case, Ark knew that there was more to this attack than you could see with your bare eyes.

The angel didn\'t react fast enough, and Thufrat\'s attack immediately breached its defences. Though that was the case, the attack didn\'t do too much, it mostly infuriated the angel even more. With a deadly stare, the angel got ready to attack, when it suddenly realised something! Even though it noticed it in the last second, it was already too late.

A large amount of mana suddenly came flying out of the ground in the form of an earth spike. Since this attack was a little too strong to just take head-first without reacting, the angel twisted its body slightly, avoiding a frontal attack.

The spike still managed to draw a thin line along the angel\'s waist, and a small stream of blood trickled down the angel\'s side. With a sinister expression, the angel tilted its head slightly, before it stared at Thufrat.

He naturally felt uncomfortable upon receiving such a sinister stare, but at the same time, he didn\'t get to ponder too much before all that was left of the angel was a hazy afterimage. Feeling the air shift behind his back, Thufrat knew that he had been careless.

The angel was furious, and it started the motion to throw a deadly punch at the back of Thufrat\'s head. A sharp noise could be heard almost simultaneously, and an immense amount of pressure was swiftly heading for the angel\'s head. The angel\'s anger was about to grow out of control at this rate, as it had to forcefully twist its body so that its punch could meet the arrow in a frontal collision.

The explosion from the collision of the two attack had no real effect on Thufrat, as he was quite strong, but he was still propelled forward a couple of meters.

The angel turned its head to see that Ephine had already conjured up another arrow made out of mana, and it served as a brilliant distraction. A thunderclap was heard, and a piercing blue streak of lightning came down from above the angel. The lightning struck the angel with a frightening velocity, before it went on a rampage inside of the angel\'s body, charring everything that came in its way.

Though lightning was a very chaotic element, Ark had still managed to fuse a little bit of his ice mana into it, which slowed the angel down considerably even if it was just for a moment.

Ark wouldn\'t let such a chance go to waste, as he was already dashing rapidly towards the angel, his sword conjured out of ice mana in his right hand. At this point in time, the angel was just standing still. It\'s originally flawless appearance was now in shambles, as its entire body was slightly singed, and its eyes were blood-red. But even if that was the case, the angel seemed slightly odd.

The originally furious and ferocious expression was now replaced with a calm expression. The atmosphere had quickly turned eerie. Even though Ark had a bad feeling, his determination wouldn\'t waver easily. He quickly arrived in front of the angel, but as he was about to strike out, a strange phenomenon occurred.

Calling it a stifling pressure would be an understatement, as the aura of the angel changed completely. A dark and gloomy haze started to revolve around the angel, until it completely encased the angel within. Naturally, Ark stopped in his tracks, unsure of what to do about this sudden development.

Even then, he still saw it as an opportunity to regroup a little, as he didn\'t want his friends and family to get too far away from him during such a dangerous and crucial fight.

The weird pressure completely disappeared as the angel was soon encased within a spherical shell that was pitch-black, and way bigger than Ark was when he was in his wolf form. Ark, Atar, Ephine and Thufrat all backed up a little from this weird shell, until they were standing in front of the barrier that Ark had created for the other adventurers.

When they were still unsure of what was going on, a loud crack could be heard, as the black completely shattered.

The dark mana and energy that had been sealed inside the shell was completely set free, as a large could engulfed their surroundings. Ark swung his sword infused with mana, instantly clearing up the black fog in their surroundings, but as it cleared, a black silhouette flashed by! Still in the motion of his swing, Ark could only watch as the angel was rapidly approaching him.

Some dark energy could be seen swirling in the angel\'s hands, but no one was able to discern what it was.

"Puchi!"

Ark who was originally standing on his own two feet was now suddenly suspended in mid-air. The swirling dark mana was still hard to make out, but anyone was able to see that it had taken the form of a long spear. It was pretty hard to miss, since it was currently impaling Ark after all.

Shock wasn\'t enough to describe what everyone present was feeling right now, as no one had even caught a glimpse of the angel\'s shadow, and all of a sudden Ark, who they presumed to be the strongest here, was suddenly impaled on top of a spear.

With a spear straight through his stomach, Ark was probably the least surprised of all. He had seen the attack coming, but there was just no way for his body to ever dodge it in time, and this was the price he had to pay. He could feel the bitter taste of blood, a taste that he had hoped to never taste again, as blood was trickling down the side of his mouth and down onto the ground.

The angel dissolved the spear made out of dark mana, and turned around, leaving Ark on his knees…
