The Divine Wolf... or?

Chapter 111: Just a normal day.

They had no reinforcements nearby, and since the young prince was heavily injured, they hurried back to the capital, not leaving Ark behind of course. The king of Estridsen was shocked when he saw Oscar\'s miserable state, and he ordered the best of healers and physicians to help save his young son\'s face.

Unfortunately for Oscar, there was nothing that could be done to make his face the same it once was. An ugly scar was permanently left on his face, it took too long to find a healer after all, and permanent side-effects were normal in such cases.

Ark was awoken the next day with a harsh kick to his stomach, and so his new life in the castle began. Calling it a life was a little generous though, as it was more like a nightmare than it was a life. The young prince was relentless in his methods, and every single day, excruciating pain was all Ark was able to experience.

The only difference between each day was the severity of the pain, where the pain was, and who administered it.

The only thing Ark was allowed to eat was what was given to him, which was usually raw. With a collar around his strength that could not only seal his magic but also drain his physical strength made it useless for him to harbour any ideas to fight back or escape, all he could do was wait. And waiting was truly the right move in this situation. Thufrat and Alenia had managed to run away with Arduin.

They located the local headquarters of the Torment of the Fallen, and from there on out, their mission began. Arduin rejoiced at the sight of his familiar classmates, it seemed like they were the one who had put up the mission to save him.

Thufrat and Alenia talked to the leader of the headquarters and requested help for Ark, but to their surprise, their request was denied. There was no way to save Ark form the clutches of the royal family with only the people that they had at this location, he was thoroughly stuck there. Thufrat and Alenia didn\'t give up on their mission though and continued to ask after help.

No one was interested in saving Ark, and they knew exactly why: money! Who would accept a mission where the risk was greater than the reward? Not many people in their right minds would accept such a deal, and Thufrat and Alenia were left to their own devices.

After almost an entire week had passed, Ark was still kept captive deep down under the ground. Inside of a small cell that was almost too small to hold him, Ark was lying on the floor. After an entire week of just pain and suffering, as well as eating raw meat, Ark\'s dormant animal instincts had started to resurface.

His sense of smell was heightened marginally as a result, and his thinking started to get affected too. After every single time Ark was tortured, he would get healed by magicians, leaving no scars or wounds on his body, only the memories of the experience and of the pain were left.

The look in his eyes, his aura, his taste for food, everything had slowly begun to change. Ark noticed these changes himself, but what caught his attention wasn\'t that he was getting them now, shouldn\'t he have been like this when he arrived in this world from the very beginning?

As these kinds of thoughts crossed his mind, Ark also made a shocking revelation, one he had no idea how he managed to look over. How did he understand the language? Why was he able to read and write, as well as speak the language fluently, albeit having no knowledge of the language itself nor any skill that could help him?

Ark had no idea, and these thoughts started gnawing on his mind, there were too many irregularities with him arriving in this world. Hearing the sounds of footsteps approaching slowly, Ark knew that it was that time of the day again, resigning himself to his fate, he shrunk back a little in the cell, and just waited for it to be over.

Seeing the prince\'s hateful and sadistic expression almost every day, Ark\'s mind was constantly filled with rage, endless rage. He would get out of here someday, and when he did, this entire palace would suffer his wrath!

...

The sun was shining brightly, illuminating the fields with splendid rays of light. The rays that were reflected on the crystalline windows of a very luxurious carriage created splendid spectacles as the carriage moved on its way down the paved road. Small pebbles flew everywhere as a small dust cloud was raised behind the carriage.

Accompanying this carriage were numerous strong men clad in black armour riding atop what looked to be basilisks, ferocious monsters that used their six legs to run at high speeds, as well as their bulky bodies to crush their foes.

Atop the carriage, a young boy was resting quietly. The young boy was exceptionally cute, and it was obvious that he would grow up to become a handsome young man. Even though they moved at very high speeds, the boy seemed unperturbed, and only enjoyed the slight breeze as well as the sunlight.

Inside of the carriage, a young girl, as well as a maid and a butler, were sitting quietly, enjoying the scenery passing by their eyes as they travelled. The young girl was just as cute as the young boy, if not even cuter, and both of them had striking green eyes, their relation to each other was that of siblings.

The young girl was a little bored from just sitting inside of this carriage for days on end, but it was something she had to do, she couldn\'t just blatantly disobey her father when it came to matters like these. With a slight pout, the young girl stared at her butler sitting in the carriage. Though a little unnerved by her incessant staring, the butler didn\'t really take it to heart.

"May I help you, young lady?"

"When do we arrive in Estridsen?"

"Oh, we already have my lady."

The young girl smiled sheepishly, melting both the butler\'s and the maid\'s hearts. Their young lady was just way too cute!
