Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 131: Close Combat

And situated at the top of this cliff, only he and the drakes were present. Xu Feng could go all-out without having to worry about exposing his capability.

Even if some drakes were to escape, could they possibly relay the information to other players?

Not to mention, Xu Feng didn\'t plan on letting any one of the drakes present here escape.

Stretching his neck, he gazed at the now alerted drakes, who were previously ferocious and wanted to attack him without regard to their injuries.

The protective aura of Blessed Protection shimmered around him, enhancing his defenses. Added with the Blessing Valor, his strikes would carry greater power and precision.

Hence, the predator drakes instantaneously sensed the change in his demeanor and the sudden surge of aura. They hesitated for a brief moment, their primal instincts warning them of the danger ahead.

"What a pity!" Xu Feng smiled bitterly at the behavior of these drakes.

"Since you won\'t come and attack me, then allow me to make the first move again." He added, seizing the initiative.

With a swift and fluid motion, he advanced towards the nearest drake.

He gripped his staff tightly as he struck with a series of precise blows that targeted the critical flesh points. Each hit was accompanied by a burst of holy light, further amplifying the damage.

The drake roared in pain, its eyes flashing with a mix of fury and fear. In retaliation and a desperate attempt to defend itself, the drake swung its tail, hoping to knock Xu Feng off balance.

Alas, the drake was too severely weakened. Added to the fact that Xu Feng had anticipated the move, he was able to duck under the sweeping appendage in time to dodge the tail.

Following that, Xu Feng delivered a powerful thrust to its underbelly.

"RAWRRR!" The drake shrieked in agony and collapsed to the ground, wrapping its legs tightly in the hope of lessening the pain.

\'Seems like my damage is still not enough.\' Xu Feng knitted his brows, a bit dissatisfied with his damage output. If it weren\'t for the debuff preventing him from getting stronger, the drake should have died after that powerful thrust.

"Whatever, I just treat it as a prolonged exercise then." He murmured, taking a few steps back. It wasn\'t that he didn\'t want to continue to strike at the near-death drake. He simply couldn\'t, given its reinforcement was ready to deflect him.

After all, the previous clash might have seemed long, but it actually happened in a short 5 seconds.

\'Those drakes in the sky are really quite troublesome.\' Xu Feng thought to himself.

Above, the drakes in the sky circled around, seeking an opportunity to try and initiate a dive-bomb on him without hitting their kin. Their flying were somewhat rigid, but they were able to remain afloat, posing quite the danger.

Thus, due to their presence in the sky, Xu Feng needed to keep a wary eye on them, forcing him to be slightly distracted from the drakes at ground level.

Those in the sky would ready their aerial assault the moment he slipped up, so Xu Feng needed to maintain his composure and distance at every second.

Just when he was pondering on the next steps, one of the larger drakes, more aggressive than the others, dove straight at him, its jaws wide open to snap him in half.

Xu Feng narrowed his eyes, and waited until the last possible second moment before sidestepping and slamming his staff into its flank, sending it crashing into the ground.

However, he still received significant damage from the crash impact and was slightly unbalanced due to the weight of the larger drake.

The remaining drakes took notice of Xu Feng\'s unbalance as an opportunity.

Without bothering to coordinate, they all dashed forward, seemingly believing this was their only chance to get rid of the intruder.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng\'s mouth slowly curled upward, creating a grin.

"How gullible are these drakes to fall for it?" He muttered, his gazes locking on the aggressive bunch of drakes.

As all the drakes closed in on their distance, Xu Feng extended his hand and cast Blinding Strike.

A radiant flash of light erupted from his palm, engulfing the area in a blinding brilliance.

The drakes screeched in confusion, their vision overwhelmed by the sudden burst of light. As they faltered and closed their eyes from the radiant flash, Xu Feng seized their moment of disarray.

He advanced with lightning speed, striking at the critical flesh points of the nearest drakes, before moving on to the next drake. Each blow landed with precision.

Exploiting their temporary blindness and inability to differentiate between ally and enemy, Xu Feng danced between them, his staff a blur of motion as he swung them with full force.

The drakes, disorientated, and unable to see, flailed wildly in an attempt to hit Xu Feng, their claws slashed through the empty air and their fellow drakes.

Amidst the chaos, he remained focused and vicious in his attack.

One by one, the weaker drakes succumb to their demise.

\'Sigh, if only Kai is here to shoot them down.\' Xu Feng was dissatisfied with his speed at killing. Although he was in the upper hand currently, there were still too many drakes alive, and his utilities were running out.

As much as Xu Feng wished to brag that the drakes had been outwitted by him, they weren\'t that foolish to fall for the same trick twice.

Hence, they would be prepared for him if he were to cast Blinding Strike or throw another explosive pod.

The Blinding Strike effect soon began to fade, and Xu Feng promptly retreated to a safe spot before they regained their sights. "That\'s enough close combat for today."
