Beast Taming: Starting From Zero

Chapter 155: Mission Accomplished

The taste of the energy pills was greatly appreciated by both Yabao and Little Treasure.

These energy pills, specially tailored for each beast, are usually a hit as long as the recipe is correct.

However, the true value of these pills lies in their effects.

Even with the same formula, pills crafted by energy pill makers of different levels yield different results.

For example, the common energy pills on the market, designed to boost a beast’s stamina, have publicly available formulas and methods.

But while a low-level energy pill maker’s pills might only allow a beast to work out for an additional minute, a high-level maker’s pills could let the beast work out for an extra hour.

The difference is staggering.

Judging by the color and shape of these pills, they seemed to be of high quality.

After Yabao and Little Treasure actively ate some pills, Qiao Sang asked, "How do you feel?"

Yabao’s pills were slightly different in color from Little Treasure’s, so they wouldn’t get mixed up.

"Yap!" Yabao responded without hesitation, feeling that he just wanted to eat more!

Qiao Sang: "..."

Ever since Yabao evolved, they’ve been almost telepathic, with little to no misunderstanding between them. Clearly, his brain was clouded by the delicious taste.

"I wasn’t asking about that. I meant, do you feel any changes inside your body?" Qiao Sang clarified.

Inside? Yabao focused for a moment, and when he sensed changes inside, his eyes brightened.

"Yap! Yap yap!"

Listening to Yabao’s feedback, Qiao Sang nodded.

It seemed that the energy pill enhanced Yabao’s internal energy and kept him active for a period of time, making this the perfect moment for training, where the effects would be maximized.

In addition, the flow of energy had increased, with the energy spreading to every corner of his body, strengthening his limbs and helping Yabao grow stronger from the inside out.

Money well spent!

Qiao Sang secretly admired the work. No wonder this energy pill, designed by an A-class breeder, was top-notch, absolutely worth it!

After analyzing the effects of the red energy pill on Yabao, Qiao Sang turned to Little Treasure’s black energy pill.

"Xun~"

"Xun xun~"

Little Treasure described his feelings.

Qiao Sang nodded along. The black pill had a similar effect to the red one, except that the red pill stimulated fire energy, while the black one activated ghost energy.

There was one major difference, though, the black pill didn’t allow Little Treasure’s energy to spread throughout his body and refine his limbs.

Qiao Sang wasn’t disappointed by this. After all, ghost-type beasts didn’t rely on physical strength to fight; they excelled in special attacks for powerful offense.

As a trade-off, though the black pill didn’t enhance Little Treasure’s physical form, it did allow him to absorb some life energy.

It’s important to note that ghost-type beasts absorbing life energy from humans is strictly prohibited by law. Any ghost-type beast found doing so would be classified as evil.

However, ghost-type beasts can only grow faster by absorbing this energy.

As a result, some breeders have developed pills containing life energy through carefully combined materials, enabling safe absorption.

These energy pills are incredibly valuable and are not usually sold openly on the market.

Although the price of these specialized pills is similar to others, the black pill consumed by Little Treasure is likely far more expensive than Yabao’s red pill.

Since the energy pills they’d eaten were so valuable, Qiao Sang didn’t waste time and immediately had Yabao and Little Treasure start training.

The enhanced energy wouldn’t last for 24 hours, so they had to make the most of it before the pill’s effects wore off.

Yabao was always eager to train, and after the recent mission, Little Treasure’s attitude toward training had improved as well.

The two of them quickly turned and immersed themselves in their exercises.

Since Yabao had already mastered Ember to its peak, Qiao Sang now had him focus on training Fire Fang.

Fire Fang, a mid-level skill and a genetic ability for the Fire Fang Dog species, had to be honed to its fullest potential.

Meanwhile, Little Treasure practiced Hypnosis on his nine ant targets.

Qiao Sang observed for a while before calling out to Yabao.

“Use your clone to train Fire Fang, and have your main body run a few laps around the yard.”

She had always wanted Yabao to try having his clone and main body work separately.

In essence, this was a kind of multitasking training. Eating while training was multitasking; bathing while training was multitasking too.

However, while Yabao could normally eat and watch TV, now that he had consumed an energy pill, his energy was refining his limbs, so his main body needed to stay active.

If this became a habit, Qiao Sang believed that Yabao’s clone and main body would eventually be able to use different skills simultaneously.

“Yal.”

Yabao nodded. He had been training with his clone and main body working separately for a while, so he understood its beastmaster’s intention.

After settling the two beasts, Qiao Sang returned to her room.

She picked up her phone, where there were already over 99+ messages, mostly from group chats.

Qiao Sang resisted the urge to check the chats.

Instead, she opened the Beast Center’s official website, logged into her account, and checked the mission details.

“Please, let it be a five-star rating…”

Even though the mission had gone smoothly, she was still nervous. Wang Yao’s example had stuck with her…

The old lady they’d helped certainly wasn’t the friendly and gentle type…

With her heart racing, Qiao Sang opened the mission details.

A less-than-five-star rating would be minor, but having to clean the bathroom would be major.

[Rating: Five stars]

[Review: More useful than the inspection department.]

Qiao Sang breathed a sigh of relief. While the review wasn’t a lengthy one, the concise comment and the five stars were enough to ensure Zheng Baolong wouldn’t find any faults with her work.

Turns out the old lady wasn’t so bad after all… Rest in peace.

The last message in the Invincible Shengshui group was from an hour ago.

[Wang Yao: Anyone around? I’m so bored, come chat with me.]

Wang Yao was really bored.

Her task was simply to make sure her Flame Sparrow posed as a model without getting restless, so all she had to do was watch over it.

Now, she was left to idly play with her phone, hoping to chat with her groupmates about how their missions were going, but no one was responding.

Bored out of her mind, Wang Yao scrolled through trending topics.

Suddenly, her phone vibrated.

[Qiao Sang: I’m here.]

As soon as Qiao Sang posted, another message appeared.

[Wang Yao: Finally, someone’s here!]

[Wang Yao: Qiao Sang, what’re you up to? Are you as bored as I am? You have no idea, I’m about to die of boredom.]

In her mind, Qiao Sang’s mission was equally dull, aimlessly searching for a ghost-type beast, probably spending most of her time standing around not knowing what to do.

[Qiao Sang: I’m not bored, I just woke up.]

[Wang Yao: … Only you would know how to slack off like that.]

[Qiao Sang: Slacking? Not at all, I was up all night doing the mission and finally got some sleep.]

[Wang Yao: …]

[Wang Yao: That sounds terrible. How’d the mission go?]

[Qiao Sang: Not bad, mission accomplished.]

That single sentence immediately flushed out a bunch of lurkers.

[Shi Gaofeng: ?]

[Xu Yajie: ?]

[Zheng Guoping: ?]

[Wang Yao: ???]

T/N: Sorry for not updating yesterday. My phone crashed and formatted, I almost cried in despair, thankfully, one throw in the wall miraculously fixed it.
