Reborn as Mr.CEO's Fat Wife

Chapter 4 - 04: Unfortunately, A Short-Lived Ghost

“It hurts so much.”

As her caesarean incision tore apart, Abigail was covered in a thin layer of sweat from the pain.

Having sat down too forcefully just now, she had tugged at her wound and fresh blood oozed out. She hadn’t been able to stand up for quite a while and none of the nurses paid any attention to her.

Abigail sat at the entrance of the ward, still hearing Ruby Green’s howling in her ears. She hooked a mocking cold smile at the corner of her lips, looked up, and saw an opulent man approaching against the light.

The golden afternoon sun shone on the man, obscuring his face, yet his demeanor was extraordinary.

Up close, his splendor was truly shocking—proud and noble temperament, exquisite features as if finely crafted by a knife and axe, a pair of amber eyes, stretched longer due to the afternoon light, resembling a cat’s eyes, yet more elongated.

He was stunning and clean beyond that of ordinary people.

Even having seen countless handsome men in her past life, Abigail had never seen such an appealing man.

She couldn’t help but be stunned.

“Excuse me, miss,” his voice was melodic, carrying an inherent laziness, as pleasant to the ears as it was striking on the eardrum.

He looked down from above, yet remained gentlemanly and elegant.

However, his attractive eyes fell on Abigail’s legs—one stretched straight, the other bent—that blocked the hallway and he frowned.

It took Abigail quite a while to realize that the “miss” he spoke of was her. She looked at the spacious hallway and then at her legs blocking the way.

“Oh.” Abigail hurriedly responded but didn’t stand up.

Every movement of her obese body tugged at her wound, causing her such pain that she forgot about the handsome man nearby. She groaned in pain, and a thin layer of sweat appeared on her forehead again. She asked subconsciously, “Could you help me up, please?”

As soon as she finished speaking, she felt that she had been presumptuous towards the handsome man.

“Pullan.”

The man spoke again. A middle-aged man with a hard demeanor who appeared to be a martial arts master sprang out from behind him. He went ahead and straightened Abigail’s bent leg, “Mr. Brandon, please.”

Having experienced even rebirth, Abigail watched the man elegantly step over her leg. Any goodwill she had towards him vanished instantly, “Are you sick?”

Before waiting for a response, she added, “Heart disease.”

The man paused his steps and turned his gaze towards Abigail. Those amber eyes had lost their golden halo against the light. They now emanated a reserved sense of melancholy, but not at the cost of his handsomeness.

But his skin was too pale as if he was ill.

His eyes fell on Abigail as if they had substance. Yet, Abigail merely looked at him calmly.

It seemed strange, it seemed as if her sensitivity had become stronger than in her last life. Was this a boon of her rebirth?

“Young Master Brandon.” The underling named Pullan swept Abigail with a dissatisfied glance and spoke softly.

Brandon Piers withdrew his gaze from Abigail’s dark and shiny eyes, and proceeded towards the ward.

Abigail shook her head, and with great difficulty, got up and returned to her ward. Cold sweat drenched her back, and her wound started to hurt even more.

Discarding the handsome but indifferent man from her thoughts, Abigail was now more concerned about her own situation.

The original body’s child had been taken away. Ruby Green wanted to piggyback on this success; clout by association?

If it was the original host, perhaps Ruby Green’s dream would come true.

Unfortunately, she was Abigail. Dream on if she thought she could step on Abigail to climb up!

But this body…

Abigail looked at the original host’s fat flesh which triggered her OCD, making her extremely uncomfortable. But the pain she just experienced made her sober. This body was in the postpartum period, which was not suitable for weight loss at all.

On the contrary, she had to nurture it carefully for a hundred days.

The postpartum period represented the only opportunity for a woman to alter her constitution.

Although she graduated from Yale’s School of Cardiology, she hailed from a family of traditional Flowery medicine. Her many years in surgery did not make her forget the knowledge of traditional medicine ingrained in her.

Whether it was recuperating her body or losing weight, both required time.

With this plan in mind, Abigail decided to grudgingly endure her fat body for now. She made an effort to search the original host’s memory for the origin of the child, only to find that the original body was very resistant to this matter. So much so that she only knew from the Taylor mother and daughter that the other party was the young master of the Piers family and had no impression of his appearance.

As for how Ruby Green replaced her, it was even more of a mystery.

However, none of this mattered, Abigail believed that as long as Ruby Green was there, the mystery would eventually unravel. Whilst nursing her body for a hundred days, Ruby Green probably wouldn’t fare any better either

In the VIP ward, as soon as Ruby Green came out of the operation room, she began shouting, “Mom, I want to kill her!”

With a heavy cast on her leg, every touch brought bone-piercing pain. Ruby Green’s charming face showed anger and hatred, somewhat ferocious.

“Calm down, Ruby. After all, this is a hospital. If you want to deal with that fat bitch, there will be plenty of opportunities. For now, Young Master Piers is the priority.” Rose Taylor was also injured, and she endured the pain to comfort her daughter.

Ruby Green’s ferocious expression softened a bit at the mention of Young Master Piers, “Will Brandon really come?”

“Of course.” Rose Taylor confidently nodded.

Ruby Green thought of Brandon Piers’ refined and elegant face that was more beautiful than a woman’s, and she blushed, “Mom, keep a close eye on that bitch. Don’t let Brandon see her.”

“What’s there to be afraid of? Brandon knows that it was you that night. Besides, she’s fat as hell now. Even Lincoln Green may not recognize her.” Rose Taylor laughed smugly.

“Hmm.” Ruby Green finally seemed somewhat satisfied, but then she thought of something else, “It’s a shame that she’s a short-lived ghost.”

“Indeed!” Rose Taylor concurred regretfully.

At that moment, their stretcher was pushed to the entrance of the ward. Ruby Green heard a nurse take a sharp intake of breath next to her. When she looked up, she was face-to-face with a jade-like face, “Bran…Brandon…”
