Fortunate to Have You This Lifetime

Chapter 494: 494: Insist It's Her_1

“Good, let’s have a look!” Cold and sharp glints flickered in Gerald Graves’s eyes as he was keen to see just who wanted to mess with him.

Purple Summers, struggling to keep her spirits up, left the room and found her bag in the living room, from which she took out her cellphone to make a call.

The situation in Apricot Village was unclear, and just the two of them, her and Gerald Graves, would definitely not be enough.

Seeing her call for outside help, Gerald immediately said, “Call my brother!”

But Purple Summers shook her head, “The situation has just unfolded, and Bella Foster must be keeping a close watch on your family. If Young Master Graves shows any irregularities, she’ll notice something’s amiss. Then, if she decides to sacrifice the pawn to save the castle, it will be even harder to point the finger at her.”

Gerald couldn’t help but be speechless, “You’re really convinced it’s her…”

Meanwhile, Purple Summers’s phone call connected.

As soon as she spoke, she said, “I’ve been kidnapped.”

Alexander Summers: “…”

Gerald Graves: “…”

“What’s going on?” Alexander fell silent for a moment before asking.

“Someone lured me to a hotel, attempting to drug me with…” Purple Summers glanced at Gerald and said, “Second Young Master Graves is here too. We encountered some thugs, and then… then…”

Her head felt fuzzy, and her words came out slowly, “…I seem to have, accidentally killed someone, and also injured another person’s foot… The room is soundproof, so no one outside has come by yet… Can you send someone over to take care of it?”

After saying all this, Purple Summers felt like she had forgotten something. She tried hard to remember, but the more she thought, the worse her headache became.

Gerald whispered a reminder from the side, “Apricot Village, Apricot Village.”

“Oh… right, Apricot Village…” As Purple Summers remembered, she tried to formulate her words to tell Alexander, “The kidnappers planned to take me and Second Young Master Graves to Apricot Village. We’re planning to check out the situation. Can you send some people to assist me?”

It was unclear what was said on the other end of the call, but Purple Summers hung up and, holding her bag, staggered out.

Gerald quickly followed her.

He was reminded of the thugs in the room and hurried back to lock the door, then closed the hotel room’s main door as well, before rushing to catch up with Purple Summers.

They hailed a taxi at the hotel entrance.

Apricot Village was in the distant suburbs, and the drive would take about two hours.

Once in the car, Gerald curiously asked Purple Summers, “Who did you ask for help? They sound pretty influential. What’s their background?”

Purple Summers leaned against the backseat of the car, silent.

Turning his head, Gerald realized she had closed her eyes and fallen asleep.

“This woman… what a big heart she has…” Gerald muttered to himself in disbelief.

Is she not afraid of being sold out? But then again, he thought, maybe it was because her fever made her feel so uncomfortable.

When they arrived at Apricot Village, Gerald saw from afar two cars parked by the roadside and several tall men wearing sunglasses looking their way with a formidable presence.

Gerald eyed one of them, who resembled the Howard Family’s second-in-command, Mr. King??? Could it be…?

Gerald swallowed hard and turned to look at the deeply sleeping Purple Summers in the backseat.

What kind of background did Ms. Summers have that she could command the Howard Family’s steward to work for her?

Gerald felt a bit nervous and shifted in his seat, thinking it was lucky Purple Summers didn’t touch that cup of tea, and he was fortunate to have strong willpower; had he been unable to restrain himself from touching her, the number of people he would have offended would not have ended with just his elder brother…

The taxi came to a stop, and Gerald got out of the car.

Zack Wallace greeted him with a warm smile, “Second Young Master Graves, you’ve had a tough time.”

Gerald quickly plastered on a smile, “Not at all, not at all. Today was all thanks to Ms. Summers’s presence.”

Zack smiled, but his expression immediately shifted to shock when he saw the slumbering Purple Summers in the backseat, “Oh my goodness! What has happened to you?!!” Zack was nearly scared out of his wits! The way she looked, it was as if she had been drugged!

When Gerald heard Zack refer to her as “my dear grandmother,” he felt as though he had been struck by lightning.
