The Strongest Dragon in the Era of Beast Taming

Chapter 436: 430: Ikki Tousen

“Strong as an ox, dumb as a post!”

That was Anders Roland’s assessment of his own apprentice.

Even though the Four Prestigious Schools lately mocked Rosewood College for having no worthy students, to the point that an incoming freshman snatched the honor of topping two lists, everyone was well aware of how powerful Fred Hoyle, who perennially dominated the Myrtle List, actually was.

And for David Jones to surpass Fred Hoyle and take first place at the age of nineteen, it’s not unwarranted to call him a rare prodigy.

You have to realize that it’s Star Calendar 1027 now, an era brimming with beast taming geniuses.

For David Jones to hold such a rare and prodigious title, one can imagine how much the leadership of the East Hua Country Beast Trainer Association values him.

Then you, this lad with thick eyebrows and wide eyes, kept repeating that David Jones is not as formidable as I am. Are you praising me or setting me up for failure?

A man is lifted into the bridal sedan with people’s praise. If you said it privately, perhaps Roland wouldn’t take to heart his apprentice’s attempts at flattery. But under scrutiny, he dared not accept praise shamelessly to avoid being mocked. Any Beastmaster with a bit of sense already knows that unless David Jones crashes midway, they must bury their envy and try their best to befriend this rising star.

Yet, this damn apprentice of mine not only doesn’t do that but also fills my life with enemies!

Upon hearing Roland’s reprimand, a trace of barely-noticeable disappointment appeared in his thick-browed apprentice’s eyes.

“We are here to use Rosewood College’s Beast Refining Tower. As guests, we need to remain humble and gentle. I don’t want to hear such words again, do you understand?” Roland exhorted sternly.

The thick-browed apprentice portrayed an expression of realization, nodded slightly, but cursed inwardly.

“Last year you despised everything, and this year you became humble and gentle. What a fair-weather type you are!

It’s a pity that I couldn’t find an opportunity to let you face David Jones today!” Don t cause trouble. Let me ascend to the first place on the Buddha List. Facts will prove everything.” Seeing that his apprentice was not convinced, Roland reminded him skeptically.

“Huh!”

Looking at the group of Phoenix College exchange students who were approaching David Jones with an aggressive posture, a look of shock appeared on Roland’s face.

“Could it be, there are really no-brain Beastmasters among the Flowery Kingdom’s Big Five?”

The exchange students from Peony College and Glazewater College on the other side also turned their attention to the encounter between David Jones and Phoenix College.

“Do you need anything?”

Feeling the gradually approaching scorching temperature, David Jones narrowed his eyes, his voice calm.

I ve heard so much about you. I am Karen Simpson from Phoenix College. I’m an unremarkable person, but I would like to learn from the top scorer on the Myrtle List.”

A coquettish woman with curly long hair and a flame symbol on her smooth forehead, stepped out from among the skinny and plump girls.

Seeing that there was a spectacle to watch, the students who were originally crammed in front of the Beast Refining Tower now looked towards David Jones. “There’s going to be a good show!” Many students who loved chaos all wore smiles.

“Sorry, I have limited time.” David Jones looked at the woman on fire for battle in front of him and flatly refused.

The Beast Refining Tower was about to open. He didn’t want to waste his seldom club gatherings on battles with the weak.

Karen Simpson was slightly taken aback. She did not expect David Jones to reject her.

Though not caring much about her appearance, due to her exquisite face and figure, no male student in Phoenix College had ever refused her request.

After glancing at Bella Wanton imperceptibly, Karen Simpson steeled her heart and feigned disdain.

“Do you really not dare, or are you just all talk?”

Hearing this sarcastic remark, Anders Roland blinked in disbelief.

He had had quite a few encounters with Karen Simpson and knew that she was a careful and intelligent woman.

There had to have been someone behind this, because given Karen Simpson’s character, she definitely wouldn’t recklessly offend David Jones, even though she, with the backing of the Huang family, did not fear a beast trainer with monstrous talents.

“Didn’t you hear our president say that this is not a battleground! If you want pointers, go to the training ground and spend your course points to get help from a guide teacher!” Claud Brenda said as he stepped forward.

“If you say anything more disrespectful, don’t blame me for bullying a girl.” Claud Brenda set his fingertip on his Star Ring.

As far as he was concerned, this was a great opportunity to show his loyalty to the Guild president.

“Claud Brenda?”

Looking at this muscular member, David Jones blinked as information about him instantly popped up in his mind.

Claud Brenda, Class Leader of Beastmaster Department’s Class IV, with Arcane Star Cultivation at the medium stage of the fourth order, was the strongest individual in the Purple Haze Club besides himself, and had the highest Arcane Star Cultivation.

Even Sean Wooley, a peak pharmacist of the Flare IV, was one small rank lower than him in terms of Arcane Star Cultivation. His only shortfall was that his pharmacy skill was weak.

The arousing innate talent he awakened was the body strengthening “Ikki Tousen”, which could enhance the body strength of a pet to a higher small rank within a short period.

Because of this strengthening talent, Claud Brenda currently occupied the 25th place in the Myrtle List and was revered as a genius that several great powers longed for. His only flaw was his weak proficiency in pharmacy!

“Who are you?”

Karen Simpson’s gaze turned cold as a tremendous Arcane Force surged from her enchanting body, her formidable aura even drawing gasps from the students watching from a distance.

“If you’re looking for trouble, I’ll accompany you to the end.” Claud Brenda’s gaze did not falter at all as a similarly captivating Arcane Force swirled around him.

“This is the Beast Refining Tower, let’s not make a spectacle.” David Jones reached out to stop Claud Brenda.

Seeing this, Claud Brenda stepped back, clearly showing deference to David Jones.

David Jones glanced at the time, there were still ten minutes before the Beast Refining Tower opened.

“There should be enough time!”

After thinking about it, David Jones suggested: “Not every Tom, Dick, and Harry deserves my guidance. If you want my pointers, it’s simple, defeat my club member first. There’s a battleground just 500 meters away.”

“Meow!” (• O •)? (Is he calling me?)

At this moment, Daphne opened her sleepy eyes and turned to look at David Jones.

No, continue to sleep.” David Jones communicated through his mind.

Hearing this, Karen Simpson gently smiled, “Naturally, if I can’t even defeat your subordinates, I wouldn’t have the face to ask for your guidance.”

“Who do you think will win?” David Jones casually asked as he watched the two standing on the battle platform.

“Karen Simpson is ranked eighteenth on Phoenix College’s Phoenix List. If it’s based on rank, Claud Brenda’s chances of winning are not high.” Margaret Yule looked serious.

After all, this is the first battle since the founding of the Purple Haze Club. If they lose to another member of the same college, it won’t be an issue; but if they lose to a student from the other Four Greats, it might inflict a considerable blow to the reputation of the Purple Haze Club.

“No worries, as long as I am here, the Purple Haze Club will stay strong.”

Seeing the anxious look in Margaret Yule’s eyes, David Jones gave her shoulder a reassuring pat.

One must select loyal subordinates with sufficient abilities when establishing a power.

If Claud Brenda wanted to make a name for himself in the Purple Haze Club,

why not give him an opportunity!
