Chapter 379: Immortal Venerable Realm, Just Thinking
After a meager six months of staying at the Omega Dome, Azmodeus managed to transcend three major realms, and this would make his fourth!
Watching him from the sidelines were Sylvia and Delilah, both of whom were sitting within the aura concealing barriers of the Divine Tree, also known as Delilah.
"You think he\'ll be alright…?" Sylvia asked Delilah as she held her wooden hands just a bit too tightly.
"..."
Delilah looked at the silver-haired beauty with pleading eyes. She really wished Sylvia\'s grip would loosen… It hurt a lot…
"Oh, I\'m sorry, Delilah," Sylvia profusely apologized after noticing what she had been doing to the tree Spirit. "I\'m just a little nervous, is all," she said as she went right back to gripping Delilah\'s hands.
"..."
Delilah started to silently cry, wishing that Azmodeus would hurry up and come back!
Fortunately, the intense Qi winds swirling around inside the Divine Tree Dome finally settled down, and from the epicenter of the Qi emerged a crimson-haired man. His appearance had somehow reverted to what it was before his Heavenly Transfiguration, which led to divine visions materializing around his nigh transcendent figure.
"...Was he always this handsome…?" Sylvia said to Delilah as her grip somehow became tighter than before.
\'Please help me!!\' Delilah screamed out within her soul.
"Hmm?"
Azmodeus almost immediately saw the pleas of Deliah, which urged him over to the girls\' location at the top of the grassy hill. His aura was transcendental, and his appearance only added to the suave demeanor that he wore around like a badge of honor. Every step he took toward the girls produced heart palpitations and a growing sense of trepidation.
\'W-What do I do…!? He\'s getting closer!\'
Freaking out inside her mind, Sylvia\'s pupils erratically flickered, and her grip on the poor Tree Spirit grew ever tighter.
In the end, her flustered disposition led to her failing to notice the divinely handsome man approach her and bend down.
"!!!"
Sylvia saw Azmodeus stretch out one of his hands, and as she saw it come closer and closer to her face, her heartbeats became louder and louder. It eventually reached a point where it felt like her heart would beat out of her chest.
Just as she felt she might die from a heart attack, the hand passed by her face and touched her hand.
"!!!"
"N-Nooo! Too soon!!—"
Sylvia was about to blow up in a puff of smoke and explode like a radioactive reactor, but before that could happen, she felt the veiny hand loosen her grip and then let go.
"Wha…??"
Sylvia opened her eyes and looked down at her hand, only to see that there was no longer anything left to grip and Delilah was gone. She then turned her gaze up to the devilishly handsome Azmodeus and saw Delilah latched onto his thigh, seemingly crying out her grievances.
"Y-You…" At a complete loss for words, Sylvia repeated the same thing while pouting like a cute chipmunk. "You big jerk!" She shouted before turning her adorable face and less adorable body away from the confused crimson-haired man.
She didn\'t know why his appearance had changed so drastically, but she didn\'t care! He was still a jerk through and through!
\'Like usual, this woman is odd,\' Azmodeus thought as he neutrally glanced at her pouting. \'Even after half a year, she hasn\'t grown tired of me. It\'s unusual… Something must be wrong with her.\'
After reaching this conclusion, Azmodeus stared even deeper at Sylvia. However, it wasn\'t really her that he was looking at or thinking about. Rather, it was the idea of her.
She was perfect in almost every sense of the word. Her appearance was flawless, her spiritly yet bubbly personality could be considered adorable beyond compare, and her devotion was on another level.
Yet…
\'I still don\'t love her,\' Azmodeus thought as he saw something in Sylvia that no one else could see. \'Any normal person would have even the smallest amount of affection for her by now, but I don\'t.\'
This subject was more than a little perplexing. After all, he no longer had his emotion limiters, which meant he could feel.
Still, there was no capacity for affection or love in his heart. It was gone… devoid of substance… nilche…
Azmodeus himself was unaware of the exact cause behind this oddity, but what he did know was that love was not in his cards. -read-now
He was destined to be alone…
\'To be alone forever,\' Azmodeus thought. \'How sad is that…?\'
This topic lingered on his mind for the rest of the day, and after interacting with Sylvia and Delilah for a few more hours, the day came to a close. It was now time to reactivate his Heavenly Transfiguration disguise and return to his previous appearance.
Surprisingly enough, neither Sylvia nor Deliah seemed to care what form he took. The way they looked at him always remained the same.
"...If I were to one day disappear," Azmodeus said as he leaned against his arms while staring at the luminescent moon hanging above them. "Would you be sad?"
"!!!" "!!!"
"Of course I\'d be sad!" Sylvia shouted hysterically. "And don\'t you dare think about doing anything dangerous! Just let me handle all money and resource issues! My father told me I could take whatever I wanted from the family Treasury!"
"Mhm! Mhm!"
Although Delilah said nothing much, she still violently shook Azmodeus and teared up at the eyes.
"I see," he mumbled underneath his breath. "I wonder if they were sad as well… When I left them all alone…"
"What was that, you big jerk!?" Sylvia shouted while pouting with cheeks way too puffed up.
"Nothing," Azmodeus said. "Just thinking."
"Thinking about what...!?" Sylvia asked while working with Delilah to shake him around even more than before.
