Chapter 324: One Big Experiment
There was still a chance that the recruit was playing the fool so as to pull the rug out from beneath them. But with the Leader\'s ability to read people, he could confidently tell his superiors that such a scenario was unlikely to happen. And even if it did, what could a 2nd Order High-Multiversal Realm Cultivator possibly do against beings half a step away from becoming Half-Immortals?
It was with this information that the Superior received permission to open up the gates of the Demon Vanquisher\'s Central Capital.
Harrowsgate.
It was the largest city on the side of the Immortal Demon Vanquishers, and it could also be considered the last bastion of all races\', used to defend themselves in their ever-war with the Immortal Demonspawn!
Upon finishing up the spooking of the numerous Demon Vanquishers, Azmodeus was able to personally enter into this glorious city!
\'Contrary to the outside world, this place seems to be under the effects of a wide array of Formation Rune Arrays, and all of them work in conjunction to alter the atmosphere of this place. Green grass, blue sky, fluffy clouds, and trees for as far as the eye can see. This city is quite remarkable for the last centerpiece of the stand against the Immortal Demonspawn.\'
While appraising the interior infrastructure of Harrowsgate, Azmodeus received a good reading on the approximate technological level of the city.
\'Around Modern… Maybe just a tad bit futuristic, but still behind the times when stacked up against something like the civilizations in the Starry Expanse. Primitive people are far easier to loot, so this works out quite well, umu!\'
Briefly turning his head behind him, Azmodeus looked at the 200 or so Demon Vanquishers that were trembling in fear while trailing behind him and the Leader.
"Why are guys still so on edge? Just chill out a little; I won\'t eat you or anything like that!"
While looking at him flash his pearly whites like a shark, the Demon Vanquishers found that very hard to believe…
"Alright, newbie. Stop messing with them like that. They are technically your superiors, so speaking to them in such a manner is especially disrespectful-"
"Ahh, you are so funny, old dude! But there is no need to worry about me and my buddies back there; I will take care of them and make sure we get along \'real well\'."
Taking cursory glances at his good ol pals, Azmodeus was seemingly telling them not to snitch on anything he may or may not have done or will do!
Snitches get stitches, and when he was done with them, you sure as hell bet they would be needing stitches!
Shiver!
Shuddering at the mere thought of getting on that demon\'s bad side, the Immortal Demon Vanquishers kept to themselves. As they continued to travel across the grassy hills of the city\'s outer layer, they tried their best to not even so much as look in the demon\'s direction.
It was really only the Superior and Azmodeus talking, focusing around the complexities of Immortal Vanquisher society and how one was supposed to ascend this plane and go to the true Immortal Realm.
\'So from what I have gathered thus far through the utilization of my unparalleled interrogation technique, Hell\'s Paradise is not the only one of such Half-Immortal Realms. And it is also not the only one to have been invaded by the Immortal Demonspawn virus.\'
\'As for what this virus is… well, not many besides the strongest ancestors of this realm would know. After all, right around when the virus started to spread, the Immortal bastards above barred off all access to their realms. In other words, they left everyone in here and the other Half-Immortal Realms to rot and die…\'
\'It\'s almost like the Immortal\'s treat this place as if it were one big… experiment…?\'
Coming to some rather presumptuous accusations, Azmodeus and the Superior resumed their talk, finishing up the conversation with proper etiquette and all that bullsh*t.
The Superior knew that the new recruit was not taking anything seriously, but it was the same way with all fresh recruits. And with time, everyone eventually adapted and acclimated to the rules and chain of power.
Being a battle maniac and murderhobo, Azmodeus was clearly a more unique case. But in the end, he would crack all the same; they always did.
…
After a few minutes of travel, Azmodeus checked up on his clones and saw that they were hard at work.
Inching ever closer to the Middle Stages of the 1st Order Low-Multiversal Realm, the next mountain of Immortal Demonspawn corpses would surely take him over the edge.
But until that point came around, Azmodeus still had some benefits he needed to work for.
Why else would he join some corny ass Immortal Demon Vanqusiher clown parade if not for the benefits!?
Everything was done for the benefits! Every move he made was all to lead up to the benefits and loot that would be acquired!
Azmodeus couldn\'t give two shits about the last bastion of the races battling against the Immortal Demonspawn! And he sure as hell had no fucks to give for their \'noble cause\'!
The only things on his mind were Benefits, Loot, and Power!
Whether it be when he walked through the grandiose gates of Harrowsgate or even when he met the upper management of the Immortal Demon Vanquishers. Whether in a \'safe\' or \'dangerous\' environment or when he had to back up and appear more passive or show his stuff and become aggressive—everything was done with benefits as the goal!
Anything was permissible, and there were no limits to how far Azmodeus was willing to go!
Betrayal, genocide, murder, death—none of it made a difference for him!
It was with this mindset that in less than 4 hours, Azmodeus\'s Battle Power achieved the 3rd Order High-Multiversal Realm, and he became a General of his own Platoon!
