Chapter 195: Fighting True Darth, The Grind

The grating voice of a man larger than a universe reverberated across the entirety of his fief.

"..."

Azmodeus listened to the words of the collosal man, as it wasn\'t long before the owner of said voice sped onto the scene.

True Darth was of a different species from a human, possessing features that were a mix between the blue titans of Norse mythology and the large, muscular men of Greek mythology.

His attire was that of a white wave-like toga, similar to the ones worn by Greek gods or commoners. On the other hand, his dazzling sun headpiece was definitely more along the lines of one of the gods, as his grandiosity truly knew no bounds.

But it wasn\'t just his appearance that gave one the illusion that he was analogous to a god, as his size trumped a universe a billion to one!

Furthermore, his aura was only something that one akin to a god should possess!

And that wasn\'t to even mention the fact that he was capable of flight…-

Wait… flight?? To be able to fly…

Azmodeus already knew which direction his thoughts were about to veer in. He heaved a sigh before asking, "Not an Astral Leap Participant, but it seems like you\'re from Earth, huh…?"

"????"

True Darth shot his menacing gaze toward the dust-like figure floating beneath him, as he never would\'ve expected the intruder to say something like that.

"Earth… I faintly remember such a place… It was a world I lived in before ascending to godhood. That time was billions of years ago…" He responded with a reminiscent glint in his large, glowing eyes.

He didn\'t know why he felt the need to respond to someone who would undoubtedly die, but for some reason, hearing that word put him in a melancholic mood.

Azmodeus understood this as well, but there was something that he was curious about, so he voiced his question while standing with his hands behind his back:

"How many more heroes are there other than you?"

"Heroes…? Well, there are-" True Darth was on the verge of instinctually answering the ant\'s question, but after realizing what he had done, he snapped himself out of the suggestive spell.

He shouted, "You actually have the audacity to influence the mind of a god!? Are you seeking your death ahead of schedule!?!?"

Despite making it sound like there was an option somewhere in his words, his universe-sized fist plummeted toward the ant the moment he realized he was under the influence of a mind spell!

"..."

Azmodeus stared at the incoming flames that molded the knuckles of the giant fiery red man.

He figured his suggestive spell wouldn\'t last very long on someone in the Peak Adamantine Stage, and his speculations were proven true.

"I guess I will need to try once more…"

Following these words, a crisp, unsheathing sound echoed out, and a wide yet thin filament of sword Qi was unleashed in the direction of the behemoth\'s fist.

However, it served as nothing more than something to scratch the itch of True Darth, as it dispersed almost immediately after making contact…

"Greet King Yama in the afterlife and tell him that True Darth was the one to take your life!!"

An ear-deafening bellow was the last thing Azmodeus heard before his vision blanked and his existence was destroyed…

-

Within a crevice of a Mound Devourer\'s throat, a bright flash of golden red light erupted as a man with the same crimson hair and kimono as Azmodeus materialized from thin air.

*Tap Tap*

He gracefully landed on the ground, and the first thing he did was look back toward the small rune key lodged in a barnacle. After which, he flashed a satisfied smile before thinking, \'Although it is not yet capable of rewinding time like a true game checkpoint, it is still able to respawn an exact copy of a Primordial Essence Clone, just as I envisioned it would.\'

Following this thought, his expression once again morphed to indifference as he leaped up from his spot inside the Mound Devourer\'s mouth.

He achieved levels of speed verging on meteoric stardom, all while causing not even the smallest amount of damage to the beast.

The moment he made it a few billion parsecs in the sky, he turned his emotionless gaze in the direction of the crater-ridden Territory of the Regional Lord and thought, \'It\'s time for round two…\'

FWIP!

His figure blurred as he took out a sleek black Planet Rank sword and dashed straight toward where True Darth was leaving the area hit by his fist strike.

The end result of this strike caused far more damage than Azmodeus did, as everything within a countless number of parsecs disappeared without a trace, leaving a vast gorge with its edges nowhere in sight.

The grind begins…

A voracious smirk nearly formed on his divinely chiseled face as he decided to attack first this time around!

...

Like a ceaseless war, time passed in orderly fashion, leaving behind nothing but the echoes of the past in its unimpeded advance.

5 years forever vanished from the Astral Plane\'s timeline.

Azmodeus encountered True Darth millions of times, dying within an instant before rushing right back to fight without respite.

No matter how many times the Regional Lord killed the cockroach, one more would just spawn right back in, attacking with even more force. And from what he could tell, the cockroach was improving…

It seemed like an impossible thing to believe, but after crushing the bug with overwhelming might before doing it all again repeatedly, True Darth could most definitely feel the strength of the cockroach increasing…

By the 1-year mark, Azmodeus could take on the initial force of the Regional Lord\'s reality-severing strike.

2 years: Azmodeus could survive the initial strike and a few nanoseconds of the force that came afterwards.

3 years: He could survive the first strike with half his existence in shambles, but he survived nonetheless.

4 years: A counterattack could be made → Dealt barely any damage.

5 years…

5 years was where it truly became interesting...

...….
