Chapter 153: Testing Out The Art Of Potion Making
And that was all the time needed for him to understand everything related to the basic stages of being a Potion Master.
Of course, such speed was partly due to his comprehension and Cultivation Talent side effects, but it was also because of his comprehension in the various Essence books of his other Professions.
So… It seems like the Potion Maker Profession is similar to that of an Alchemist and was likely created as some form of variation by an extremely proficient Alchemist.
At this thought, Azmodeus continued flipping the book\'s pages, glancing at a multitude of depictions that exhibited postures similar to what one would use while refining pills in a pill cauldron.
To become a Potion Master of the \'Basic\' or \'Common\' Tier, I just need to make a few vials with my Qi to supplement the fact that I don\'t know how to make vials of a sufficient level with my Spirit Blacksmith Profession.
Following this thought, he conjured up a bit of his Qi as it flowed out of his Dantian before coming together as a sphere of energy in front of his face.
*Waaaz!*
He had the Qi wiggle and squirm as it started to mold into the shape of a crimson-colored vial.
*Waaaz…*
The energy died down after a moment of molding, and from this process, a six-inch vial with a large, round base was created.
"This will be my first time attempting the Art of Potion Making, so just to be safe, I will encase this vial in another layer of Qi."
Azmodeus\'s analytical words were followed by him lifting up the vial and swishing it around a little, just to make sure that no loose Qi elements could flake off the interior.
After confirming that nothing was wrong with the vial itself, he used his recollection of the Basic Tier Potion Making Manual in order to figure out which materials he needed to begin concocting the simplest of potions. Namely, the \'Copper Refinement Potion\'.
BING! BING! BING!
He used his comprehension of the essence of various aspects of existence to materialize the necessary materials from a few scraps of trash metal.
"This should be enough to make around 10 batches of Copper Refinement Potions," he commented with a content gleam in his gaze.
Though I could make a nearly infinite number of materials at such a low level, this is good enough to start what I\'m about to attempt.
Azmodeus\'s thoughts stirred as he levitated the Low-Common Rank materials that he transformed with what little he understood of the essence of Potion Making.
But regardless of how he acquired the materials that had their descriptions inside the secret manual, they were immediately thrown into the vial after being converted into a liquid form.
*Wazoop!*
An unusual sloshing sound echoed out from within the vial as a wide array of unknown phenomenons were occurring inside it.
From this step, all I need to do is understand the molecular makeup of each individual part of the various substances within the vial…
Azmodeus got to work on the concoction of his first ever potion as a bit of time passed by.
...
Half an hour later.
*Pop!*
~Whiff~
Following the low-sounding popping sound produced from the opening of the vial\'s lid, a strong and rich heavenly fragrance was unleashed into the outside world.
This fragrance would\'ve definitely alerted a number of high-ranking figures if not for the swift actions taken by Azmodeus to conceal the smell.
After verifying that no one was attracted by the fragrance, he moved his gaze toward the potion in his hands as he looked at the results of his first attempt at potion making.
A light blue color… a tinge of gold filimanet, along with a smidgen of green on the outer rim…
Everything appears to check out, but there is only one true way to verify the success or failure of the first product of this new venture of mine.
Azmodeus lifted the vial a little higher until it eventually reached his lower lip. After which, he dumped all the contents of the multi-colored liquid down his throat.
This would typically turn out to be a sure-fire way to find yourself on a straight line to hell, but in his case, nothing much was capable of steering him away from more strength.
But regardless of his fearlessness, he was confident that even if the potion was a flop, he would still make it out with his life intact.
After all, no matter what sort of potion it was, the materials that were used in its making determined its potency, and Low-Common-Rank herbs were far from enough to kill him.
Even so, he waited for the effects of the potion to kick in. Fortunately, he didn\'t have to wait long, as a slight boost to his strength could be felt from within his muscles\' molecular structure.
"Roughly… 45% efficiency…"
Azmodeus declared the efficiency rate of his first Physical Existence Refinement Potion, as he was quite satisfied with this result.
The average efficiency rate for a potion like this one is around 30%, and that\'s even considered excellent for veteran Potion Masters, which is all to say that I\'m on the right track.
He wouldn\'t deny that he was happy about the results, but on the infinite road of cultivation, there was no room for conceit or complacency, so he continued the art of potion-making without respite.
...
Nearly 6 hours flew by in the blink of an eye.
By the 1-hour mark, Azmodeus successfully concocted over 3 batches of Copper-Rank Physical Refinement Potions.
And by the 3-hour mark, it only took approximately 2 minutes to make an entire batch of Low-Copper Rank potions with 50%+ efficiency rates.
After the full 6 hours passed, he was able to increase that 50%+ rate to 70%+ and the total concoction time down to 20 seconds.
According to predictions, it would likely take him no longer than a few more hours to achieve 100% efficiency along with instant refinement speeds. But at the exact moment he reached the 8-hour mark, a troublesome girl with misty gray eyes awoke with a drowsy look on her face…
