Rebirth: The Villainous Young Master Doesn't Want to Follow the Script

Chapter 120: The Other Successor Candidate

*****LESSER FLOOR*****

"Then, let me ask you. What are you doing there and hiding like a rat….

Golden world-hopper, CYRUS?"

The agent asked the person he address as the Golden world-hopper, Cyrus. The other successor candidate aside from Eclipse.

Only these two had remained out of nine successors back then and when he thought about it, the agent find it hilarious about their names.

Cyrus of the Radiance and Eclipse of the Shadow….

Both candidates had their names representing the Sun and Moon within the Universal Realm of the Main House System however, only one of them would be appointed to the position as the Leader of Worldline Realms if the time comes.

However, even if that was the case then, there is already an unspoken decision within the residence of the Main House System. All of them could tell that the position for the Leader of Worldline Realms would fall into none other than Eclipse.

That\'s because…. Unlike Cyrus who was chosen by one of the Lord God\'s trusted aides to be the candidate, Eclipse, on the other hand, had been chosen by the Lord God himself.

\'Therefore, it\'s right to say that Sir Eclipse is most likely the chosen one since he was appointed by the Lord God himself.\'

Now that the chosen one got stranded into that worldline because of the unexpected system error that happened more or less three thousand years ago, right now, the agents from the AutoTech Department are trying their best to reconnect the system interfaces of those two and to get some updates from them.

Especially, with Eclipse\'s special case because of his soul energy that seems to be fluctuating more than millennium years, and the reason why Sir Red reincarnated him back to his original worldline, aside from the fact that Eclipse needs to hide for a moment because of what happened from his last mission tasks…

\'There is a chance that his soul energy would be recovered if he were to stay in his original worldline for the meantime until Sir Red find out about that anomaly from Eclipse\'s last mission.\'

It\'s hard to tell how long Eclipse would be staying in that worldline and most of the senior residents knew his backstory when he started as a novice world-hopper.

"It\'s not that I\'m sneaking or eavesdropping in that area. I was about to tell them some of my discoveries, but I know that I would be sound suspicious for them, so I just left and planned to meet up with Sir Red."

The agent snapped from his thoughts when Cyrus explained himself, but the agent couldn\'t help but to be wary of this other world-hopper.

"See? Even you are wary of me. What am I supposed to do for all of you to let your guard down for a moment? Just because I\'m the other successor candidate chosen by one of the Lord God\'s trusted aides doesn\'t mean I have some ulterior motives! Geez! That\'s why I don\'t want to stay in the Main House System for a longer time!"

Cyrus said annoyingly and crossed his arms around his chest and puffed his chest like a tantrum child.

"Forget it. So, just tell me. Is your superior, Sir Red around in the Lesser Floor? If not, contact me on my system interface if your superior is available or not. I\'ll be going then."

Before the agent could even speak, Cyrus left the area and only the agent that\'s left behind.

\'Although it\'s true that my attitude towards him are quite rude but I couldn\'t help but to be on guard whenever he\'s around since his superior is none other than [that guy].\'

Also, the agent had the feeling that they have some involvement regarding about Eclipse\'s last mission since [that guy] had a strong opposition when the matter about the Lord God Jules for choosing Eclipse as one of the successor candidates by himself.

\'I also doubted as well about Cyrus and although he rarely stayed at the Main House System but that doesn\'t mean he is not free of being the suspect of that matter.\'

However, that guy stated that he needs to talk something about to Sir Red and the agent had doubts about this matter but he even though he felt wary about it, but he would still comply and would tell this to Sir Red after he finished his visit at the Upper Floor where he request an audience with the Lord God.

....

......…

......….

\'That agent had the nerve to be hostile in front of me when I haven\'t done anything yet! Tsk!\'

Cyrus thought as he walked around within the Lesser Floor at the Main House System after he finished some of his missions from the worldlines that assigned to him.

For around more or less thousands of years ago, the system interface shut down from that moment and most of the agents and world-hoppers need to halt their missions because of that incident.

However, with the help of the agents from the AutoTech Department and with other few world-hoppers who happened to have some knowledge with data-base codes and advance technology from most of the modern worldlines that they had encountered in their journey, they helped with each other in order to restore the system network within the Main House System.

That also includes Cyrus since he is one of the senior world-hoppers and had the knowledge as well, he imparts some of his knowledge with his other co-colleagues.

Also, he is also one of those world-hoppers who were trying to find a way to reconnect with their other two residences that seemed to be stranded in that particular worldline for who knows how long it was.

\'Geez! That kid sure makes us all worried about him! If he were the only one who got stranded in that worldline without the assistance of his system interface, I wouldn\'t hesitate to world-hopped into that worldline as well!\'

Contrary to the popular belief within the Main House System, although both him and Eclipse are competitors for the position of the Leader of Worldline Realms as both of them are successor candidates, they were not practically competitors.

Actually, if Cyrus wanted, he would step down as the successor candidate and let Eclipse take the position, even though Cyrus is the senior between them, but he believes that Eclipse is suited for the position.

\'Also, that position isn\'t someone for like me to be coveted about it. After all, Eclipse is the one we are waiting for.\'

However, Cyrus couldn\'t do that for the moment, and he needed to act on his position as one of the successor candidates lest he wanted his superior to be suspicious about his true motives.

\'Tsk! That sly b*stard is so annoying that there are times when I wanted to purge his soul energy for him to cease to exist as of this moment but by doing that without evidence of his corruption then, it would be a tough one.\'

From what Cyrus knew about his superior, there are others who aren\'t that happy about the Lord God\'s decision for choosing Eclipse himself as a successor candidate because when the Lord God choose Eclipse by himself then, that is practically saying that Eclipse is the one who would inherit the Lord God\'s position without any problem.

\'I\'ll bet with all of my favorite course meals that those sneaky b*stards might be the one who created that anomaly back at Eclipse\'s last mission and not only that, but there might also be traitors within Sir Red\'s side, and it leak about Eclipse\'s soul energy problem.\'

As for how Cyrus knew about Eclipse\'s problem with his soul energy?

Simple.

That\'s because of Cyrus\' authority.

His authority gave him the ability to see the soul of others, it doesn\'t matter who they are, as long as it wasn\'t a higher being then, it won\'t backlash on him.

Of course, his authority is only limited to someone on his status or lower than him, such as humans, demons and even the residents here at the Main House who were on the same status as him that he could see their soul energy.

However, Cyrus only knew that there is some problem about Eclipse\'s soul energy, but he wasn\'t so sure about the rest of the details since it wasn\'t his business to meddle and besides, Cyrus is the one who told Sir Red about Eclipse\'s soul energy having some problem.

Also, only Sir Red and the Lord God Jules knew about his primary authority and no one else. Even his superior doesn\'t have any idea how his authority works.

\'He might be my superior and the ones who brought me up but that doesn\'t mean I could trust him that much.\'

He truly needed to talk with Sir Red about the discoveries that he had learned about and if he were too late to convey his message, Cyrus didn\'t know what could have possibly happened.

\'I guess that I don\'t have choice but to convey this to the Lord God himself then.\'
