Vol.3-Chapter 5 – Visiting the Sect

Vol.3-Chapter 5 – Visiting the Sect

Whether it was the seven holy lands, first rate, second rate, third rate, and even those unknown sects, they all had their own sect protection formations.

However, the power of these formations would be different depending on the power of the sect. There were many different types of sect protection formations, from killing formations, defensive formations, trapping formations, illusion formations, and some rare formations that could attack and defend, along with other characteristics.

The holy lands like the Hundred Flower Valley all naturally had very powerful sect protection formations with a powerful cultivator controlling it. The daily upkeep cost of these formations would dumbfound any rogue cultivators.

Those small sects with only a few dozen people also had their own formations, though most were simple formations that served as warnings. However, this varied from sect to sect. Some small sects perhaps got lucky and possessed a powerful formation. Luck was something that couldn’t be forced and seemed predetermined.

Aside from the Void Suspension Monastery and the Mysterious Heaven Sword Sect, the other five holy lands all had tens of thousands of disciples.

Only the Void Suspension Monastery cared about passing just one generation to the next. Each generation only had a handful of disciples, and that was only in very special cases. Each disciple of the Void Suspension Monastery was a demonic genius that could easily sweep most other people.

Although the Mysterious Heaven Sword Sect didn’t have tens of thousands of people, they weren’t just a few people like the Void Suspension Monastery. Their numbers always hovered in the thousands, and during their peak, it reached close to 10,000.

However the Mysterious Heaven Sword Sect focused on cultivating the character before cultivation, cultivating the heart before the sword. That was why although the disciples of the Mysterious Heaven Sword Sect cultivated slowly at first, their cultivation sped up later on. This was why they always had the largest fighting force at the peak.

The other five holy lands accepted large numbers of disciples, so there would naturally be some geniuses among them. This was why the Ten Thousand Dao Sect had disciples all across the 13 provinces and seemed strong, but this was all superficial. The real competition was between those at the top, and none of the other holy lands were weaker than the Ten Thousand Dao Sect.

At this moment, at the edge of the Hundred Flower Valley’s protection formation, there were seven or eight disciples carrying flying swords standing on guard.

A voice with penetrating force suddenly echoed and shocked the disciples on guard.

“The Mysterious Heaven Sword Sect’s Jian Wuxian has come to visit.”

Hearing this voice, the disciples all looked at each other.

A disciple with a goose egg-shaped face furrowed her brows and opened her seductive, red lips, asking in a puzzled tone, “Isn’t Jian Wuxian the Head Teacher of the Mysterious Heaven Sword Sect? Why did he leave his sect and come here? Senior Sister Zhang, what should we do?”

A woman with white skin and without any makeup looked at her, but she didn’t immediately make a decision. She was the one in charge of this place today. Generally, disciples only needed to confirm their identity when they left or entered the sect. All disciples had jades that allowed them to pass through the formation, so all they had to do was check if the disciple was the actual person or not.

When an outsider would come to visit the valley, they would usually inform the sect ahead of time. The elders would then inform the disciple in charge that day about it. However, today’s situation was simply too rare. They couldn’t just casually open the formation to let outsiders in. However, Jian Wuxian’s status was too noble, so even Senior Sister Zhang had to ponder for a bit.

The surrounding disciples all looked at Senior Sister Zhang, and as time passed, her frown became even deeper.

They were at the mouth of the valley, and there was a brown pavilion here at the entrance. The people on duty here could easily see the outside. The mountain that blocked the entrance was just an illusion created by the formation.

Senior Sister Zhang turned her head and looked at the three men standing outside. A young man who had the eyes of someone who was much older. She had seen Jian Wuxian many years ago and was naturally convinced of his identity.

However, she didn’t recognize the middle-aged man who had a playful smile, nor the reserved young man beside Jian Wuxian.

Even though she was certain about Jian Wuxian’s identity, no matter how noble his status was, she couldn’t just open the formation without authorization. At this moment, she made up her mind.

Senior Sister Zhang turned her head and said to the goose-faced woman, her expression serious, “You, quickly go to the Calming Flower Pavilion to find the Valley Master. If the Valley Master isn’t there, find the elder in charge or one of the seven Peak Masters so they can inform the Valley Master that the Mysterious Heaven Sword Sect’s Jian Wuxian is here and is waiting outside. See what the Valley Master’s response is.”

The goose-faced woman quickly nodded and fiery-red spirit force erupted. She quickly flew into the inner part of the valley.

After this woman left, Senior Sister Zhang’s expression suddenly changed. She stared at the five disciples near her and shouted, “Come with me to greet our honorable guest and wait for the Valley Master’s responses.”

If it wasn’t ordinary people, she wouldn\'t care, but Jian Wuxian was far too famous. She was just a little disciple, so she wouldn’t dare to offend them, but she was hesitant about inviting them in. She could only have someone inform the Valley Master while she went to out greet them and wait for the Valley Master’s response.

A soft rumble echoed and then a burst of colorful light rippled through the sky.

The steep mountain wall before Zhao Jiuge’s group of three immediately disappeared, revealing a brown pavilion and the entrance to a valley. Even standing outside, Zhao Jiuge could feel the spirit force inside and smell the fragrance from the flowers.

When Senior Sister Zhang came out with the five disciples, the mountain wall distorted and disappeared. After the six of them walked out completely, the mountain wall suddenly returned to normal.

“The Hundred Flower Valley’s disciple Zhang Caixia greets the Mysterious Heaven Sect’s Head Teacher. I have already informed the Valley Master, but I ask the Head Teacher to wait a bit.”

Zhang Caixia bowed slightly and spoke very respectfully. She didn’t have to act like this, but Jian Wuxian’s face and prestige deserved such courtesy.

“No problem, we’ll just wait a bit.”

Jian Wuxian smiled like the spring breeze. He could wait a bit. Although he had mainly come for Zhao Jiuge’s marriage proposal, he still wanted to talk with an old friend.

Hearing this, Zhang Caixia didn’t say more and led the other disciples to wait with them. She occasionally looked toward Jian Wuxian from the corner of her eye. She had a good impression of him.

Jian Wuxian’s strength could not be underestimated among the holy lands. He could compete with her own Valley Master, but he didn’t put up any airs. Instead, he had a smile and an amiable attitude.

Zhao Jiuge looked at the formation protecting the Hundred Flower Valley but wasn’t able to perceive much. He could only tell it had illusionary abilities. Beyond that, he lacked knowledge. The formation around their Mysterious Heaven Sword Sect was a pure killing formation.

Zhao Jiuge had nothing to do, so his eyes involuntarily drifted to the surrounding Hundred Flower Valley disciples. He couldn’t help but sigh. He now understood why most people decided to choose someone from the Hundred Flower Valley as their dao partner. Their appearances were outstanding, and so were their strengths.

They all wore colorful dresses and carried flying swords on their backs.

Combined with their beautiful faces, it was particularly lethal. Zhao Jiuge couldn’t help but feel his heart pound. However, this was merely in pure admiration and nothing else. He was not as naive as he was before.

These female disciples were like fairies to mortals. It was like when he first saw Ling Bo Re back at the cold pool. However, Ling Bo Re’s appearance was 100 times more outstanding.

While Jian Wuxian and company were waiting outside, deep within the Hundred Flower Valley, there were three figures talking. Two of them were sitting, while one of them was standing.

The hall was not huge, but it was still pretty open. The layout inside gave off a quiet and elegant atmosphere.

The entire hall was vermillion red and there were many landscape ink paintings hanging on the walls. Every single pillar was surrounded by pots of unknown flowers. These flowers were of various colors and exuded a faint fragrance that was very refreshing.

The temple had some simple tables and chairs made of pear wood, and there was a plaque outside the hall with three giant golden words that read: Calming Flower Pavilion. This was where the Hundred Flower Valley’s Valley Master, Hua Lingsu, cultivated.

Usually, when there was nothing going on, Hua Lingsu would cultivate here. If there was an important matter, she would hold a meeting here.

At this moment, there were two people sitting on the two pear wood carved chairs.

On the left was a woman wearing a long, light-colored dress that gave off an air of elegance. There was a dot of red cinnabar between her brows. She looked about 30 years old and gave off a mature charm. She was the Hundred Flower Valley’s Valley Master, Hua Lingsu.

The person to her right was similar in age to her, but she didn’t have the dot of red cinnabar between her brows. Instead, her hair was coiled up high and held together by a green hairpin.

Her delicate, white face didn’t have a hint of makeup, and she was wearing a golden dress that was wrapped tightly around her beautiful figure. Even with her sitting there, one could see her amazing curves.

.

This woman who looked a bit younger than Hua Lingsu exuded a noble temperament. She was one of the seven Peak Masters of the hundred Flower Valley and also Hua Lingsu’s junior sister.

Aside from the Valley Master and those powerful elders that remained hidden, the seven Peak Masters held the most power, and they were all very powerful. Among them, Lan Wuxin could be ranked among the top few.

Aside from the two of them was a figure standing behind Hua Lingsu. She was about 25 or 26 years old and she was wearing a pink dress. She had a delicate face, but her willow brows revealed that she had a rather overbearing personality. Fortunately, before her teacher, she was obedient.

She would not show such a good temper toward other people. Aside from the elders, she only listened to her senior sister, Ling Bo Re. She wouldn’t bother giving other people the time of day.

If Zhao Jiuge were here, he would be able to recognize this woman as the same woman who was with Ling Bo Re when she killed that flood dragon back then!
