Married to the Protagonist

Chapter 150: A Good Father (2)

After saying that, without waiting for him to answer, she quickly snatched away his phone, closed out of the page, and opened up his search box. The bottom rows were all related to “pregnancy”.

Chen Jinyao lowered her eyes, eyelashes quivering. Following that, she heard Yan Cheng’s lazy voice appear by her ear. “Yeah.”

He wasn’t the slightest bit inattentive.

His performance last night only confirmed that Yan Cheng was still that childish kid whose brain worked in mysterious ways.

Whenever he did something for Chen Jinyao, he would always bring it to a ludicrous level, making so Chen Jinyao wouldn’t feel moved for more than three seconds.

The noble and cold cat lord Danny was finally willing to step out of its cage.

It very generously let Yan Cheng off the hook and came over to his leg, rubbing up on it again.

Yan Cheng laughed and scolded it for surrendering so easily, but he still reached out to give a gentle tap on its nose and petted the fur of his prideful cat.

He managed to patch things up with it, at the very least.

“…” He really couldn’t tell that this guy holds grudges.

Yan Cheng patted the head of the silly cat and then slowly straightened himself up.

“Student Yan Cheng.”

Chen Jinyao suddenly hugged him from behind and shut her eyes.

The orange sunlight slowly crept in from the window. As the room was air-conditioned, it didn’t feel too hot being exposed to the sun. The light drew across their body and spread apart, giving birth to a peaceful feeling.

“You’re going to become a good father in the future.” Her voice was as soft as a feather touch, tickling Yan Cheng’s ear.

It was as if Yan Cheng was paralyzed. His body stiffened and couldn’t even human answer after a long time. He just narrowed his eyes and looked out into the far distance that was blocked by the tall buildings. He couldn’t imagine what was beyond the buildings blocking his view, but in fact, he was only in a trance for a while before his soul flew off.

The word “father” was both familiar and unfamiliar to him.

At least, it was strange when suddenly used to describe him.

In fact, it wasn’t that sudden. After all, they had planned for this long ago. Even so, Yan Cheng had no idea how to describe how he felt. Just by calming down and talking about this matter, he could vaguely feel a strange emotion reaching out towards him.

He was prepared, but it also felt like he was completely unprepared.

Even if there was time in the middle just for him to make preparations.

Yan Cheng gently pulled away the hand that was resting on him without any weight, then turned around to face Chen Jinyao. He looked straight at her with his lips pursed, not knowing what to say for a moment, and the sudden confusion caused him to panic.

Almost without thinking, he grabbed Chen Jinyao’s waist and hugged her back, feeling much better after breaking away from her meaningful gaze.

In the near future, there will be a little kid that would look either like himself or Chen Jinyao looking up at him, mumbling the words “papa” with difficulty.

He would be there to stay with the baby, teaching the baby to speak, to be there for them as they toddled to protect them, and of course occasionally let them fall and telling them not to cry, and to be brave enough to get up by themselves.
