Married to the Protagonist

Chapter 112: Tango (1)

But in the end, it takes two to tango.

“…” Chen Jinyao’s face was red.

When she saw Yan Cheng seriously talking about how “all men are pigs”, she finally couldn’t hold back her laughter and snickered for a few moments. She opened her arms wide and looked at Yan Cheng. “Come, carry me to the tatami mat.”

This flirty act implied that he was pardoned from crime.

Though he did expect this to happen, Yan Cheng was still stunned for two seconds. Following that, he got up with hastes and jumped out of bed, hurrying over on his slippers and pulling the blanket off while Chen Jinyao worked with him. He picked her up with just the right amount of strength, carrying her up lightly before taking large strides over the living room with reddened ears.

Chen Jinyao was wearing the hotel’s bathrobe and her collar flipped open with just a light pull. She just happened to be wearing nothing inside so Yan Cheng tried his best not to look. He was being quite gentlemanly right now. After putting Chen Jinyao down on the mat, he shut his eyes and helped her tidy up her bathrobe. With a light pull, he wrapped her up tight. When Chen Jinyao looked at her with raised brows and a meaningful smile at her lips, he pretended to clear his throat and muttered, “careful or you’ll get cold.”

Chen Jinyao curled her lips and reached out to touch his stomach. Voice crisp, she asked, “Then why are you naked?”

“Have you heard of Lian Po’s story?” Yan Cheng pinched her nose. “When he asked for forgiveness, he took off his own shirt and bore the brambles on his bare body.”

“Oh.” Chen Jinyao moved her hand away and raised her chin proudly, asking seriously, “But you’re not carrying brambles.”

Yan Cheng narrowed his eyes. “Who said so?”

Almost as soon as he said that, he turned around to show her his back. Through the bright and slightly piercing light, the faint movements of his body as he breathed as well as the slight movement of his sexy back could be seen alongside several conspicuous red scratch marks.

Yan Cheng, “See that? These are the scars left by the invisible brambles.”

After a moment, he couldn’t help but add, “It’s your masterpiece, by the way.”

Chen Jinyao, “…”

While Chen Jinyao was still speechless, he left towards the bedroom, and not long after, put on a T-shirt before wandering out casually.

He was even holding nail clippers when he came out.

After getting Chen Jinyao to move over for him, he sat down and silently pulled over her hand. Lowering his head and looking down, he began clipping her nails, starting from the thumb.

Chen Jinyao had not reacted for a moment and was dumbfounded. Following that was surprise. She shrugged her arm uncomfortably but failed to pull her hand away. After receiving a deep “don’t move”, she was quiet for a moment before blinking her eyes and asking curiously, “You actually brought nail clippers with you?”

Yan Cheng threw a glance at her before looking back down, muttering, “Yeah, I just tossed it in your bag casually.”

“…”

Chen Jinyao, “Let’s get some time away from the group tomorrow.”

“I want to get my nails done. I don’t usually get the chance.” She pursed her lips. “Thanks to the nature of my job.”

Yan Cheng nodded, not minding it. “Sure.”
