Chapter 224: Excalibur, The Abrupt Departure Of The Goddess
Azmodeus felt something off, but that didn\'t stop him from handing over the red amulet in his grasp. "Don\'t make me regret my decision."
After uttering these words and successfully passing on the amulet, he saw the smiling goddess take something out of an unknown space, causing a round sapphire-like ring to fall onto the soft bed.
ZIP!
The ring was lifted up off the bed using some form of psychic power. Then, after bringing it close to the amulet in her other hand, an effulgent reaction erupted from in between the two mysterious objects!
BLING!
Everything in the room was enveloped in a bright purple array of colors, as the layer of space that connected the room to the Astral Plane seemed to disconnect for a second.
It was only after a few moments of the purple light prevailing that it eventually died down before being replaced by a faint, illusory silhouette of a miniature sword.
The sword was eastern and resembled something thin and ethereal, with faint hints of the Dao emanating from its image.
"This is your destiny—the Ring of Saphron and the Amulet of the One-Eyed Red God—one which was given to your master and the other given to your father. In fact, he was the one who personally asked me to pass this onto you once I recovered my memories—a recovery that only occurred the moment you were born in Prometheus."
The Goddess of Light informed Azmodeus of the history behind the two separate objects, as he utilized his absurd comprehension speed in order to digest everything being thrown his way.
My father… What does my father have to do with my \'Destiny\'? And where does my master have a part to play in everything?
Even with his ludicrous level of comprehension, he still couldn\'t understand things without enough context. And seeing as most things were left out of the picture for him, there was truly nothing he could do at this point in time.
"This sword." The Goddess of Light interrupted his thoughts as she extended her slender right arm and grabbed the miniature materialized sword from thin air. "This was meant to be yours since the very beginning, as it was what your Father, Mother, and One True Master wanted you to have."
"My One True Master?"
Azmodeus wasn\'t following, but he wasn\'t allowed much time to ponder the matter, as the sword was thrown in his direction, forcing him to react with lightning-quick reflexes and catch it before it sliced his throat!
After successfully preventing his death, he glared in the direction of the goddess, preparing to kill her for attempting such a thing. But when he looked at where she once was, all he saw was the place where her plump butt was imprinted.
"You only need to know one thing, dear Azmodeus."
A dissonant female voice echoed out through time and space, as the goddess had one more thing to inform him of before fully vanishing from the Astral Plane.
"You only need to know the name of the sword—a sword that will be with you till the end of time—a sword that will reap so many lives that no amount of cleaning can hope to erase the deaths that stain its existence—a sword that goes by the name of... Excalibur!"
WAAAA!
Reality itself seemed to resonate with the uttering of those words, as there was no denying the existence of something beyond the very concept of existence!
"This will be your companion and partner, and with the addition of Sanguinary, you will have two weapons that will always be by your side."
Azmodeus thought over the words of the goddess as he looked down at the small, emblem-like sword within his left palm.
"However, with the giving of this emblem, there is no longer any time left for the two of us, so this is where I bid you farewell, my dear Az."
With the uttering of these words, her voice forever faded from the timeline as she was transported to some unknown area outside of the Astral Plane.
Following her departure, there was only a crimson-haired man left in her palace, as the rest of the guards and staff mysteriously disappeared.
"Excalibur… What a name to call a sword for someone as devilish as I…" Azmodeus remarked with a slight hint of snarkiness, as he found it all too funny.
But regardless of what he thought about its name, there was really only one thing he cared about.
And that thing was the benefit!
Considering the quality of this sword, I would say I benefited quite a lot from this little encounter.
Although I didn\'t end up reaping that Goddess loot bag in time, this sword more than makes up for it…
And with the impending arrival of those six, I should be able to more than compensate for this slight loss of Physical Existence Points…
With this thought in mind, Azmodeus enlarged the dark red and black sword emblem, resulting in its size instantly extending to around 6 feet, making for a truly badass longsword/greatsword/Nagikatana-type weapon.
Furthermore, when it was stacked up right alongside Sanguinary, no one in the Astral Plane could deny the daunting aesthetics of the Crimson Emperor.
It was with this very appearance, alongside his long crimson hair and flowing robes, that he blurred from his spot, shooting straight toward the first of the six pulsating auras!
The being he was aiming to kill first was some form of Kyrin and possessed strength in the early stages of the Middle Star Radiance Realm, likely owning more purity in its blood than the Jörmungandr.
This will be the first of six massive loot bags, and since I like to do things in order, I will start with the weakest of the lot…
Following this nonchalant thought, Azmodeus sped up his advance, hoping to reach the Kyrin before the 50 year mark passed.
Although the beast\'s strength was significantly stronger at this point in time, with more than 2000 years of cultivating inside the Heaven Exploding Cave Abode to look forward to, the gap between them would only lessen.
It was this way of thinking that ultimately led to him only needing 180 or so (outside years) to kill and obtain the loot from the Kyrin.
