Chapter 275: Priority Level
Chapter 275: Priority Level
"Get to the point," Sylas said coldly.
Alex didn\'t seem to mind, continuing his diatribe.
"You know, the first thing I did when I got those snippets of memories from my clones was look you up. I didn\'t believe for a second that those old hags and fogies didn\'t have you on their radar, and what do you know? How could I have known that I was in the presence of royalty?
"If you didn\'t trick me with that disguise of yours, I would have hightailed it out of there the moment I saw your face."
Sylas frowned. What was Alex talking about? Royalty? Was he talking about the Grimblades? It didn\'t seem like it. The government, Legacy, and the families might have mutual respect for one another, but it was doubtful that that respect bordered on the sheer fanaticism in Alex\'s eyes right now.
"Ah, you won\'t get it. Just let me show you."
Suddenly, Sylas felt a press on his mind that he instinctually rejected. But the images still flashed for a moment. After realizing what it was, he didn\'t fight it and soon he saw what Alex was referring to.
[Profile: Sylas Brown]
[Moral Alignment: Lawful Neutral]
[Moral Spin: Chaotic]
[Priority Level: 5]
[Feats]
[Age 7: Completed Neural Cognitive Dreamscape in 7 minutes and 21 seconds, defeating the previous record by a full three minutes]
...
[Age 9: Deciphered Ancient Ithkuil text and completed puzzle. This has helped advance our comprehension of these matters by several fold. This child can no longer be tested by normal means]
...
[Age 11: School shooter plan has been put into effect, but was thwarted at step one. Sylas picked out the shooter and covertly alerted a teacher before anything could happen. The insight of the boy is beyond measure]
...
[Age 14: The boy has begun to show signs that he is too difficult to control. Despite having had the qualifications to graduate high school three years ago, he has chosen against going an extra credit route and has begun to take things slowly. However, during annual test, he once again received full marks, surpassing all previous records]
...
[Age 15: Dummy programming class was a success. Sylas managed to learn the abstruse and complex programming language in just three days. Unfortunately, it does not seem like he has too much interest in computers. The final evaluation is that the boy cannot be controlled]
...
[Age 16: Sylas Brown has not been able to be tested properly in several years now. When he was young, it was easy to come up with methods, but it is clear now that if we continue, he will notice our presence. I have decided to simply observe him to see if there will be any changes to his personality. But for now, he is still unusable]
...
[Age 17: I have made the decision that this will be the last year of monitoring. Sylas Brown has a Lawful Neutral Moral Alignment, but he has a Chaotic Spin. He and his girlfriend seemed to have broken up, and days later, he displayed his first signs of violence. I have not seen such ruthlessness in a boy who has yet to see a battlefield in all my days]
...
[Final Evaluation: Steer clear of Sylas Brown. It is impossible to tell what level this boy\'s intellect has reached. I have watched him since he was young, and even I do not understand him. I recommend that the organization kill this boy while he has yet to grow, or else there will be untold consequences in the future]
Sylas read all of this with sharp eyes.
These were many events that he remembered after his conversation with the first Legacy member that he had run into. However, he hadn\'t remembered them in such detail. It could only be said that the person who was in charge of his evaluation was incredibly sharp. The moment they noticed that Sylas had grown too much to test in even the most intricate ways, they immediately chose to take a hands-off approach... and they were correct to do so. Had they continued, Sylas would have certainly realized that something was off. They could trick him and goad his pride into action when he was a toddler, but by the time he was in his teens, he was already confidently his own man.
The only part that he didn\'t remember clearly was the violence mentioned when he was 17 years old, but when he thought about it deeply, he remembered...
\'That guy...\'
There was a time after Cassarae and he broke up that she went on a date with another guy. He didn\'t mind it at the time, after all, who was he to control her? But then the guy began spreading rumors about her after the fact. Sylas couldn\'t remember losing control of his emotions like that before, and he wondered if that was part of the reason he didn\'t care to remember so clearly.
One way or another, he ended up beating the living hell out of that guy. Honestly, it wasn\'t a very fair fight. Sylas didn\'t know much other than amateur boxing. But there was a difference between fighting in this world where everyone was a martial arts guru and beating up an insignificant school bully. He couldn\'t remember even struggling in the fight.
But what he did remember was that he had had no intentions of stopping at the time. Had a teacher not pulled him off, he might very well have killed him.
Sylas\'s gaze regained its focus and he looked up at Alex who was still staring at him with fanaticism.
"Do you have any idea what Priority 5 means? Let me tell you, Psycho Syl! The Priorities follow the same path from Fragmented to Legendary in the organization. So what does 5 mean, you ask? It\'s actually a different tier altogether. It doesn\'t refer to a tier at all, but
instead five people.
"In the thousands of years of history of Legacy, only four others than you have gained this level of evaluation!"
Sylas didn\'t care about the praise; he latched onto something entirely different. He never did care about the praise of others. He had his own internal motivation. Instead...
"Thousands of years?"
